I'm not sure what happened. But it really suxz!!! . When i go into create a sim mod and i want to change lets say the skin color it doesn't change at all. u can see the arrow move but nothing happens. Then the other prob. i have is i can't edit my sims name anymore. you can't even see what the name used to be. it shows the capital I curser and u can click it, but thing changes when u type a name. If any one knows how to fix this, this would be great. idk if i need to update my game or what . thanks to those who can help.

It sounds like you have a conflicting mod or a bad piece of CC that is messing with your CAS. What have you downloaded lately? And have you recently updated your game?

Well i have downloaded hair.. and umm oh god idk i doownload alot of crap... :/. i haven't updated my game cuz its a cracked verison so i can't basically.

Never heard of this happening before. Did it start with Sunlit (if that's the game you have)? Sunlit didn't come with any updates, that I'm aware of, and I actually went into CAS when I first started the game and it all worked fine. Like KK mentions...it might just be bad cc so if you can't recall everything you recently downloaded your best bet would be to go back to the last date you remember BEFORE you had the problems.
Once you do that take all of it out from that date until current and then test your game and see if the problem is gone.
If it is, then you can start re-adding the removed cc a little bit or piece by piece until you find the culprit cc.

Or...use Delphy's mod, that might find the bad cc for you, but I've found for some reason, as of late, that mod see's almost everything as corrupt! So...the first idea may be your best although depending on the amount of recent content you added, can be a bit time consuming.

Then you might have some conflicting mods and downloads that require a patch to work properly....Hmm have you heard of Delphy's Sims 3 Dashboard Tool it looks at the packages in your game and can tell you if they are corrupt, duplicates or conflicting. It can also tell you the name of the package, what type of CC it is and where it is located.

i have used Delphy's mod mod and well its didn't do anything for me. i looked up on the net well google about this prob. a few ppl have it but no one has found out how to fix it. i will keep trying to take in and out package files, but my husband has one of the same errors i have to and we don't even have the same sims CC's.. he has the can't file in sims name prob. And i have my whole Basic for skins names and like fatness sliders. so idk how that even happened. thanks guys for ur help ill keep checking out how to fix this. if i find out how too ill make sure i post it in here for others .

So i run my game without package files and it works. but now i can't find out with one it is . And the scanner can't find it either.

You can try to restore your computer to earlier time, maybe that will help. I did that once and my game was working fine.

haha if i do that my pc is already broken so it will just make it worse. my pc shuts of randomly and like this orange light comes on making it frozen. cuz the place i got it from gave me a charger that broke my pc cuz it was the wrong one. and they nvr fixed it so now i have the right charger but the battery is fried..

The package scanner can help. It can tell you if the package is a mod, makeup, hair or clothing. Try taking out all the mods in your package folder first and see if that helps.

Also remember, you don't have to lose all of your cc, you can reinstall let's say, up till the first of the month. Set aside all cc you added after that and then boot your game. If it boots up and everything works, then you know your bad cc is in the stuff you uploaded this month. You can do this going back week to week also. I did this and it worked perfectly for me. I was able to narrow down the content that was corrupt without a lot of headache. I do hope you get it up and running, trust me, EVERYBODY here has had some problem with our game and trust me when I say, we do all understand.

my months are all wrong in my package folder. there is not August and i just did some this moth. its up til the july. the lastest one i have is 7/30. but i did some this whole month, so idk where it went too .

The mod that expands the skin slider to see custom skins also causes this problem when it conflicts. I forgot to say that. If you have any mods that do things to CAS then remove them.

You can also modify your package folder. Your computer knows when you put a new file in so just use your options there to organize your content.

You should try using CC Magic. Every time I download something that I already have it will crash, which means you already have it in your game so all you have to do is remove that download and continue. It also helps you keep your cc organized and merges them together so your game runs faster. But it doesn't merge them permanently so you can always remove what you don't want later. And I also have a cracked version of the game and every expansion pack and every time my game crashes I use this thing called the ultimate fix and it fixes any problem you might have. Those two things save me from a lot of lag and crashing! I highly recommend
