PostSubject: So not happy with my game...   September 20th 2012, 3:18 am

I got into my game tonight(or last night, depending on how you look at it) and was going to play in Misha's house. She had grown into a young adult since I last posted. Anyway, I clicked on her house and a message popped out saying that her car had been sold since she had passed away. I quickly went back to the main menu without saving and went back into the game only to get the same message again. I seriously wanted to throw my computer out the window at that point. Needless to say, my saved game was seriously glitched, so I went to edit town and changed households, jumping into Leanna's house instead. The funny thing is, Misha was very much alive when I went to Leanna's house. I added Misha to Leanna's house, saved both sims, and have decided to start the whole thing all over again.
Sorry for venting, but I got a little bit frustrated with my game. Sad

Oh the monstrous memories of when the game first came out!! People dying all over the place, moving from day one to day two and people spitting out babies left and right...even the single menz! Lol! You know you could always go into 'saved games' in your sims game folder and just deleted the game that killed her and jump back to the last time you played.

Just a thought for possible upcoming problems. Hope not...but it helps! This is the main reason I save each and every game I play so I can always go back if I've encountered a glitch of some sort. I don't play freewill any longer...kept losing track of my families!! shocked Whacky sad laughing

The only good thing about all of this is I get to play her as a child again. It's even more fun the second time around and I'm forming a storyline as I'm playing. I hope to have the first installment up sometime tomorrow. Smile
I'll just have to remember to keep a back-up in my folder at all times in case this ever happens again. I want to see how far I can take this legacy before getting bored. Smile

Not sure if I was crying, but I know my expression was something like this shocked I was frantically searching for Misha in the game and trying to figure out how to get her so I could at least save her to the sim bin. I usually save most of my sims to the bin in case I ever want to play them again, but for some reason, I hadn't saved Misha or Leanna. The last time I actually cried over losing a sim was when my first sim, Casey died of old age. Sad045

Yup this definitely sucks lol. You could've tried opening the .backupfile of the saved game. The game automatically creates one for every save whenever you start a new world. Sometimes they're not so up to date though. Razz

I had gotten into the bad habit of deleting the backup file, along with the cache files before I entered the game. I won't be doing that anymore. shame

Awe D: Well deleting your cache everytime you enter your game isn't a very good idea Shocked It makes the game take longer to load because it is reloading all the CC thumbnails and doodads everytime.

It has been taking a pretty long time loading. I guess I won't be deleting my cache files as often then and hopefully that will speed up the loading time. I'm never embarrassed to say I learn something new every day. Thanks, Kosmo! Big smile

The last time I actually cried over losing a sim was when my first sim, Casey died of old age. Sad045

I've cried twice with Sims 3, like you, first sim death I had. The elderly father passed away while having breakfast with his wife and children. He was eating and getting ready to go to work and just...died. I had grown so attached to him because he was my first created Sim. After that...I toughened up! Then there was the time I cried when I thought I had lost the children of this same guy. He and his wife were younger of course and they had 5 children. A teenage son, a teenage daughter, two children, twin boy's and a toddler (little girl) in the potty training stage.

I kept getting this notice that the teen boy wasn't completing his after school projects and not doing his homework and I couldn't find anything. He was to age to young adult in a week or so, so I just decided to ignore the warnings. Big mistake!! Next thing I know the child services came and started removing the children from the home. The parents were crying, the kids were crying and I was crying!!! Sad I also panicked, my very first family and I felt like a serious loser. But...that's when I thought...I save each game by date so I can just back track and go back to the game before this one...which I did, found out where the boy was putting his homework...(on the side of the house.... Rolling Eyes ) got him caught up and everything went well after that.

The sims 2 I remember getting teary eyed when a father was swimming in the pool and drowned. His young wife was in the kitchen and she just howled into tears. I've never seen a sim do this before and haven't ever again...truly sad and creepy!! Shocked I didn't play for several day's after that. laughing

Oh, gosh. Don't get me started on Sims 2. I actually created my own family, including all three kids, using their nicknames instead of real names. They loved watching me play the house, but I don't think they really understood the idea of death. My husband's character passed away from old age and my son wouldn't stop crying until I resurrected him.
Another time, I was playing my sim, Dee, and fell asleep at the desk. I had such crappy work hours and was always tired. Anywho, when I finally woke up, my Dee sim had passed away, her husband was asleep in the chair, and social services had removed the children. Needless to say, I didn't save that house. That was probably my favorite house on ts2. Big smile

Your games were really....animated Big smile
I don't really remember when I played sims 2 (bad memory... facepalm ) but I'll never forget one thing. I was like.... wtf *NEW* XD
I made a newbie's mistake; I forgot to add a fire alarm *dundundun*. My sim was completely useless with cooking and when she went to make herself some food, she just set fire to her kitchen and then SHE was set on fire eek laughing . I remember being so shocked I didn't move an inch XD Well it's only when I had a grave in the destroyed kitchen that I started to curse her lame cooking skills XD

My kids were afraid of the grim reaper. Dee would run out of the room when someone died. She was more afraid of grim's music. The lack of cooking skill and fire death wasn't pretty..lol. Most of mine starved to death because I forgot to feed them. shame I remember playing sims 1, but didn't really get into playing until ts2 came out. When I got ts3, I downloaded ts2 on kids computer and they continued to play. I just wish I would have saved some of my daughter, Genny's houses. They were really colorful. She had four or five different wallpapers in every room, but then again she was only five or six when she played it. Big smile

Pretty sure that I did tell you, Dee. Remember, Chester and Dee had the "T" children: Tyler, Taylor...can't remember the rest. That was when Dee was dating John Cena, but cheated on him with Chester Bennington. laughing

You sound about like me! With Sims 3 I've not really had a chance to play past that first family and I only got to the second generation. I've been dying to get my hands back into the game but have very little time with my move and all. Hopefully soon...I've got too much cc just sitting in my folder to NOT enjoy it and I'm so newb with the new ep packs...they are just sitting there!

I started playing Showtime but then I had to do a uninstall/reinstall and kind of pooped out of game play. I do want to get back into it, the acrobat career seemed like so much fun! Maybe soon!!

I can't seem to make it past the second generation in sims 3 either. I think the closest I came was when I played my sim, Casey's house. I had a difficult time keeping track of all of the sims. Casey had given birth to 4 children(I think) and I think two of them were expecting children when my game started acting up and I had to uninstall. I was in cas yesterday, trying to recreate Casey, but she's going to be tricky. She was originally made with no cc at all.

That kind of makes me want to play in Starlight Shores again, Cece. I didn't think that I would like the acrobat career, but it's my favorite. Big smile

Me too!!! I thought acrobat had to be the most stupid career ea could have ever chosen to add to a game...however...once I got started I fell in LOVE with it. Little miffed though because I have to start my sim off from scratch again and he had advanced so far in the original game. Sad...

I'm really wanting to start actual game play again...I do miss it! I played Sims 2 like nobodies business...I'd be up to the wee hours playing that game!! Of course I didn't run a forum either.... ;)
