PostSubject: Someone leaped to concluisons about what I was saying   October 24th 2012, 8:46 pm

There is a thread about relgion (and other ideas) on the Sims 3
http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/602640.page

and I said that the ones I assumed would be in the sims (if EA ever change their minds for the main game and if they did do a real reglions) the more well-known reglions: would be:

1.Christanty
2.Judiasm
3.Maybe Islam (doubt it)
4.Hinduism
5.Buddism.

and the idoit Bosslay or whatever their name is leaped to conclusions about what I was saying this is what she said:

"excuse you? Christianity is just as bad.. every religion has extremists. every culture, every country, every race. and the fact that you said "major ones" is why this cant happen.. who are YOU to say whats the "top 5" religions?"

Aren't the 5 I listed the more well-known ones unlike something not well known like Wicca, etc?

I'm just saying those religions would be the more likelier reglions to be included if EA did change their minds.

Yes there ARE several more reglions but those I mention are the more well-known ones.

Yes there ARE extremist in every relgion..but Islam gets most of the blame.

I think Catholic would be in that list of top 5.

Now, I don't agree with how s/he responded to you...I think that was totally uncalled for...however...you seem to get so senstitive to how people react to your replies. Sad... Don't take it all so seriously hun...that can cause more harm than good. Also...it's a game and in my opinion...I can't see ea EVER adding religion. Talk about controversy...wow! They would suffer serious backlash!

Well techinally I clumped all Chirstanty (and I know there's more then one type) into the one category Chirstanty. I know there's Catholic, Protestant, Methodist and also I think Mormons, Orthodox, and the United (One-which is the one I attend), etc.

Techinally I should have put Chirstanty second and Judaism first, since I always felt that Judaism is the "older sibling", Chirstanty is the "middle sibling" and Islam is the "Baby" .

But techinally the person leaped to conclusions. I just said that IF EA did include any relgions it would be more likely to be ones like Chirstanty, Judisam (and maybe Islam..but I highly doubt it what with some people's views of Islam), and Hinduism and maybe Buddism. The first three are very well known right? Hindu and Budism aren't as well known.

EA wouldn't be likely to use real world religions if they do want to include something like that, I bet they will create a pseudo religion with people wearing budhist robe, praising llama deity, in a building that look like a combination between Artemis temple and church

I have to agree...and I think even THAT would be pushing it a bit far for ea. I do think it's funny though...worshiping Llama's!!! laughing But I can see how some people would then say that ea was making fun of religion all together. (some people easily forget it's just a game) Rolling Eyes Just like adding disibilties...I think ea has steered clear of that type of gameplay for fear of the repercussions that could cause them. Some would not understand the total idea and concept behind it but would think that ea was making fun of disibilty or disabled people.

I was surprised at even how they portrayed the different countries...they took a huge leap but it paid off in the end!

throughout our history, apart from those abrahamic religions human have worshiped rocks, trees, some animals, signs of nature, keanu reeves, Galactic Emperor Xenu, etc.
so I thing it wont necessarily seen as insult to religions when some simmies really believe in the virtue of da layin llama

I made a thread on MTS since I want to see what people thought of the ideas I had for a sim game I would make and someone mentioned this in the thread when she read to "pre-teen":

Quote :
I haven't read through the whole list (will do in a bit), but you mentioned pre-teen... I commented on that in another post so I'll do it again here I guess.

I really don't see the need to have a pre-teen age phase in The Sims. It represents such a short period in a person's life, and it's not worth all the coding and files and junk just to represent that phase. If you really want to play that age, just make a teen and have them act a certain way I guess.

Additionally, adding pre-teen would make it very difficult for EA/Maxis to market this game with a low ESRP rating. Right now it's marketed at "T" for Teen, so it's only appropriate that they include some limited romantic interactions for teenagers. It's pretty much accepted wisdom that most American teenagers engage in some type of romantic activity in their high school years - some more than others. If you lower that threshold to pre-teen, it makes it very difficult for EA/Maxis to justify keeping the ESRP rating at "T". I'd imagine it's pretty obvious from the implication here that they'd have to raise the rating to at least "M" for mature, or even "A" for Adults only. There's already mods out there that allow Young Adult and Adult romantic interactions with teens, and EA/Maxis' lawyers and devs don't need the headaches that would come with mods that unlock that kind of interaction with pre-teens.

So I guess to sum up. Not necessary. If it were actually included, I'm guessing the audience for The Sims games would be cut in half because of the ESRP rating. And uh... creepy.

I mean I'm not excalty going to be allowing for Teen/YA or Teen/Adult relationship in the game OR Teen pregancy. So how the (Not kid-friendly language) make the rating go up? The only romantic stuff I have plan for pre-teens are puppy love since pre-teen (11 girls only have started to notice boys, and don't do much more then write a note, boys if they liked a girl would tease her aka Gilbert-even though Gilbert is I think older then Anne in Anne of Green Gables, girls and boys still stay together in "girl-only" group and "boy-only" group at events like dances.).

Beside it would be nice to be able to make a Pre-teen HP and friends right? Since kid is too young (8 years old-more suitable if you want to create like a young Ginny not attending Hogwarts ) and Teen (too old you're like in the 2nd last year of Hogwarts)

and the said idiot just gives me a link to a (not kid-friendly lanuage) to a TEEN HP and this is what she said with it:

Quote :
Not really going to address the rest of your stuff since I'm getting a lot of this isn't so much what you think would make a good balanced game, and is more about wish fulfilment and self-insertion via The Sims.

So, for the portion I highlighted:

a modded game can easily changes ESRP age rating, it should be out of publisher's responsibility. there is also difference between "unlocking" and "modding" unlocking is just showing hidden contents the developer have intended to do originally, that got buried before the launch
for example GTA San Andreas Hot Coffee, and Max Payne's Mona Sax skin which already has nipple by default

while modding is adding new ideas into the game.

yes I understand that (I'm one of the people who tell off other people for either mentioning Teen pregancy on the forum no less the mod that isn't allowed to be take about since it makes North America's forum rating go from T to M) but the idiot person was acting like the base game would chance the rating because the teens would need to have adult interactions.

to me nowadays, real life teen is like TS YA, and real preteen is like TS teen...
so much different kids mature faster and sooner compared to older generations.

I wish in the next TS games there would be smooth age transition through morph like bodyshape, then clothing age group can be made much simpler, since in real life, lots of kid's clothes are actually a small size adult clothing.

I have to agree Nav. And ML you have to understand that nowaday's teens are so much more mature than they were even 10 years ago. Teen pregnancy has been around for centuries and only the last few decades was it seen to be uncalled for a teen girl to actually engage in intercourse let alone have a baby. There are still Countries that condone teen marriage and pregnancy. If I had not learned about modding the game, I would have never played past the first Sims game. It's very bland and boring without a lot of the additional options that our wonderful modders and creators give us. Even the Sims creators bring so much more realism to our games.
I don't have to have a full blown mature body on my sim, i.e. penis's...however I do like at least having boobies and nips on my female sims. I have had the male bits and pieces before but it seems senseless to continue to use them because they just bascially...sit there. Lol!!
But any who...the game has been made so you can pretty much make it any rating you want and I'm cool with that! Big smile

Yes but I don't see how when I would be going with the old school pre-teens/teens how that would chance the rating? I mean on Hogwarts Online (which is PG rated. The movie version I guess of VG's T ) its forbidden to have 11 years characters do much more then just a brief kiss on the cheek.
