so I decided to retire my old mechanical drive where I installed my system to change it with SSD.... and since I installed my games on another drive, so I thought I only need to safe the sims stuff from my document and after I reinstalled my OS, it would be playable once I put the stuff into my document.... guess not.... oh nooo apocalypse did happen to my simmies yesterday.... how cruel god I was.... horrible such drama.... Annoyed

If you uninstall the sims, it always asks to also remove saves and stuff, if you answer with "yes", it's not "safe" anyplace on any drive on your computer. You always need to make a copy of your saves and stuff, in another location, like your desktop for instance, so none of your saves are lost.

You KILLED all of your sims!??? How horrifying!! Those poor babies!! We are doomed... sad

Thank you Eva and Cece, yes I have saved the whole Electronic arts folder from mydoc before I swapped my harddrive, while the games are installed on D: drive, several other games can work right away, once their savepoint and setting are restored by copying back the folder into my document on a fresh new OS, but not the sims... how sad, what a long and windy journey to install everything back pale

That's strange !!! Annoyed

I make a copy on my desktop of all my saves every time I patch and put it back after I've patched, without any problem. It should have worked for you as well !
