Good post! I read the article and found it very very interesting! I don't see how color blind would have been a feasible trait...but there are some traits that I just never use, so that would not really affect my game play.

Interesting. I wonder what effect it would have had on favourite colours. Now the sim gets a mood boost if he/she is surrounded by things coloured in his/her favourite colour - if EA had put in the colourblind trait, I assume that that benefit would have been neutralized/lost.

I'm only putting this little information on this thread because its related to a conversation I had with the article's writer about disablties (on the article site)

I asked about considering a poll for the idea of disabled sims and this is what the author said:

"That's the sort of thing that we might do if we were heavily considering it for a pack in the very near future. If it's just a more general poll, then we'd be worried it might disappoint players if it took years before we eventually did it. However, I had a conversation with some other SimGurus at lunch about this, and the general opinion was that including disabilities could be good if (1) it didn't use all our animation budget and (2) it was something players could opt into. There was one SimGuru who disagreed though, who thought it was too serious an issue. It was certainly an interesting conversation.

I've been wondering how they'd do disabled sims in the game, it'd add an interesting element to the game though that's for sure.
