So at this point i'm pretty much frustrated -.- This is day 3 of me trying to find new ways to fix my game. Its laggy, it freezes constantly and then starts back up, sometimes it freezes but the trees and background still are in motion but my simmies are just stuck and if i'm lucky it'll crash :D

Here's my system:
Processor: AMD Phenom (tm) II X4 955 Procesor 3.20GHz
Installed Memory(RAM): 4.00 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System

Local Disc: 708 GB free of 931 GB

So far i've compressed my packages into about 6 files. My overides, mods, and hairs are the only files not compressed but that should be no more than under 300 files in total.

I've downloaded software that helps delete my registrey, Razer Game Booster (Helps shut down unnecessary programs running in background), and something else that supposedly allows the sims to use all 4GB of RAM because apparently it's only allotted 2-3GB.

I've disabled memories, installed the overwatch mod, I use save cleaner before each game use....hmmmm.....and i've monitored my system while my game is running with Process Monitor to make sure that I don't have any faulty mods. I also use Sims 3 dash and i've rerouted my sims 3 shortcut so that it doesn't have to go through the launcher....and I think that's about it.

Game still lags, freezes, loads slowly...crashes and it's becoming frustrating

All I want to do is play with my simmies...will someone please help me

I had the very same problem and what I had to do was change worlds. I could not get it to stop no matter what I did and like you, I did quite a bit! I had even uninstalled and reinstalled and when I went into my game it just did the same thing. I was playing Sunlit Tides but I'm now in Hidden Springs with no problems. Well...I did have one tiny problem, my game sent a message stating that I had a unroutable sim, which was false because I was staring at the very sim it claimed was unroutable. I just moved the sim using 'moveobjects on'...even though there was nothing blocking them.

So maybe try playing a different world. I can't think of much else but that is the only thing that helped me. I checked the internet, the official forum and various other forums and just could not solve it. I hope this helps, please keep me posted.

As much as I would hate to start over im kinda running out of options. I've been playing in St. Claire and with Twallans Story Progression Mod and i've noticed that my town has become a bit over populated(I've had to create several miny homes to accommodate for the growth) and I think maybe having all those sims might be the problem but I find it extremely boring to play smaller worlds and plus St. Claire is so gosh darn pretty :/ 

I guess i'll get to work and see what happens...

Using Nraas Error Trap and Overwatch may help.  Also there's a free program called game booster that shuts down all unnecessary programs running in the background to make a game run faster.  I've been using it for a while now and it does help.  When you exit your game, it returns everything to the way it was.

Edit: With the latest patch, I had to remove Error Trap and Overwatch as they were causing problems.

Have you tried cleaning your cache files, including world cache or fixed your featured items folder so that EA can't bombard you with store pictures?

Yep, still nothing but I think i'll wait to restart my town since island paradise will be out next week and I'm not sure what that'll bring

I hope you get it fixed! I know how frustrating it can get to have your game acting stupid.

you can turn of the store pictures  there is the option for that.and dont forget that one need to be online  to the internet for that feature to work too. oh well

I had this problem, and it helped to combine packaged CC with S3PE, IDK if you have tried that already. Also, playing in big worlds is a major problem. I couldn't even load up St Claire without it crashing. I recently started playing in Esther, a small/medium sized world and my game runs much better

Have you tried running your game without ANY mods or packages/.sims3packs? If it loads the game perfectly vanilla then you know it's something in your CC.
