It sounds like Dell might have mis-stepped you. Your computer shouldn't be not allowing Sim play if it did before. I'd see if with this re installation if there was any significant updates or upgrades to windows 7 and then see if they are compatible with the Sims. We have someone on site that can probably give you more detail in trying to figure out your situation. I'm going to move this thread to technical help so it will better visible to others. Good luck and I will check in on this thread to see if you are any closer to a solution. I'm sorry you are having problems! Also when you re-installed your Sims did you update your Game manager first? I understand that was causing some problems with game play, also check for launcher updates. (seems like there may have been something done there also) Also test each disk before installing the additional sp and ep's.

Hmmm... this doesn't sound right. If Windows 7 is properly installed, it wouldn't give any problems starting up and / or downloading the sims 3 with updates and stuff. If you can't access the sims 3 game, either Windows 7 or the Sims 3 game isn't properly installed. This also might be 'user rights' related as you can't access the Sims 3 game. When you install the Sims 3 game, please make sure you install it for "all users" (that way the "user rights" are assigned properly to the game). I can't tell from here if Windows 7 is properly installed. If you have other problems with running applications, this might be the case. If you had crashing problems, please checkout this thread Windows 7 & crashing. If your computer is 64-bit, you might need the LAA thing. If you need LAA, please install the base game and all other sp and ep's EXCEPT Late Night. Then install LAA, like in the thread, run LAA. After that install Late Night. I hope this helps !! If you have additional questions, please post them in the thread. If you experience trouble, a screenshot of what's happening on your computer might help, to help us or me, helping you better. Otherwise please write as much details about what's wrong, what happpened and what you were doing when it happened. Anyways good luck & I hope your computer and your game will be running soon again !!

Here is a link that I found on ms3b someone was having launcher issues. Do check your eadm to make sure it is properly updated also as well as what Eva has advised. Here is the link to check to make sure you have a current update. You can check the version when you start up the EADM. The current version is 7.0. http://www.ea.com/1/download-manager

I had a similar problem with my game after a crash caused me to uninstall everything and reinstall and it turned out it was the EADM that I hadn't updated which was screwing everything up...once I did that and reinstalled my game everything worked fine so it's worth checking out the link CeCe gave...I'm sorry I'm not more technical and can't offer any more advice...I hope everything gets sorted for you soon though.

I spent the day with Dell on yesterday and FINALLY got everything straiightend out. The EADM message did come up too. Dell said the drivers for the video card were not installed so he did that and updated Late Night and I'm back online. Next Problem is that everything got wiped off naturally so I've got to start over. I had downloaded Riverview and now it won't let me download it. Am I out of luck. I have Biridgeport, Twin Brook and Sunset but can't get Riverview where I was working last. It lets me click download and the box comes up asking permission, but that's all. Any help please.

OK, you can download Riverview here: Riverview Sims3 World (large file) The file is a rar-package, please open the file, the Riverview sims3pack-file is inside, save it to: C:\users"your name-snowee"\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims3\Downloads\ and install the world through the launcher :D I hope your troubles are over !! Good luck !! ;)

Yay! So glad you at least got most of it taken care of! In all of this I'm stunned that I did not tell you to save your files!!! *face palm big time* The minute you said 'dell' and even though I LOVE my dell, I had a similar problem when I had to have a new hard drive installed. The kind of left off bits and pieces that I had to locate and take care of myself. So I guess this, combined with eadm would cause some serious problems! Keep us posted and let us know if Riverview works for ya!!

Ok, I have Riverview downloaded into the Laucher but it keeps telling me to be sure that my game is updated when I try to install it. That was suppose to have been done yesterday by Dell and I saw him updating. Maybe I'm missing the last patch possibly?

Then it has to be a a launcher problem. My launcher has always, since the latest patch, gives me an error and ask me if I want to continue yes/no...all I do is click 'yes' and it goes away and I'm able to continue. Now I do still have problems if I try to download anything from the store... I know this is an issue that has been addressed in the ea community... I will try to browse around and see if I can locate any information for you! :D Just a question also...have you tried to download anything that has been 'shared'...sometimes that can fudge up your game also if it was cleaned up before you downloaded it.

I don't share files with anyone. There are 2 cleaner Icons on my desktop left by Dell, I don't know if that is what you're talking about. I do know it was put there by the software guy. I have downloaded lots with no problem.

I downloaded the LAA and hope I did it right. I forgot to shut down my computer last nite and it didn't want to act right this morning. Had a crash and just sit and prayed that I didn't loose my family I just created until it came back up. Put them in the starter house and placed a park for them today and they are really enjoying it. Just made the family Monday this week so I really don't won't to loose them. Have already lost about 3 families due to crashes over the past couple of months.

| Great! I'm glad it's finally working out for ya! You do save/backup your game don't you? Do you have an external hard drive or any device that you can save? Also while in game mode...save your family and that way you have the family, the house and all in it in case it crashes again. I've learned all this the hard way... Good luck to you!! :800:
