PostSubject: Some Time Out   Some Time Out I_icon_minitimeFebruary 19th 2011, 8:07 pm

So y'all know me and my silly ways but I want to take some time out and be a little serious ( I hope none of you mind). Well today Feb. 19th is my dad's birthday, sadly he passed away a short while ago and I miss him terribley we were so close...now since I haven't been able to go visit the places we used to go or somewhere he loved this is my way of remembering him and all the things I miss and love about him...posting this is really hard and even now I'm all teary eyed but I wanted to share one of the reasons I am who I am today and thats all because of him...(the little girl is me on his knee in the first picture).

Feel free to add on to this anyone you would like to be remembered who sadly isn't with us any more.

I wrote this poem about a year ago, in remembrance of my "big" sis, who died about 3 1/2 years ago now.

Miss You !!!

Darkness, ...
Silence, ...
Emptiness, ...
Shrouds, clouds, mists fill the Sky,
My existence
Sad, ...
Sorrow, ...
Loneliness, ...
What is that ? No Moon ? No ...
Star, ...
Faint, ...
Shimmer, ...
Light there is, Her Star there is, Hope there is
in my existence
She is There
In the Sky
Her Star
My Hope

❤ Eva, miss you !!!

Aww Eva that's beautiful I wrote a poem too for my dad here it is:

Dad....(this one is very personal to me as it was written shortly after my father passed away).

To me we were the best of friends an that still runs so true,
A shining star, the brightest light who’ll always guide me through.
The rock that sheltered our family from each and every storm,
The one who kept our family tight even when the bonds were worn.
I miss our little talks and the precious words you gave,
I miss the laughter that we had and how we’d misbehave.
It’s the usual routes you used to drive and that flat cap that you wore,
It’s the way you gave us everything even when we wanted more.
It’s the jokes that made us giggle, it’s the way you used to smile,
It’s the swearing on the jobs you did and how they’d take a while.
How did things go so badly, where did it all go wrong?
It seems a lifetime since I’ve seen your face it just seems oh so long.
I wonder what you’re doing now and what you are up to?
I wonder if you’re missing me as much as I miss you.
It feels like there’s a gaping hole just sitting in my heart,
It’s been there quite a while now ever since we’ve been apart.
There just seems something missing, something so out of place,
It comes back to haunt me every time I see your face.
An words will never bring you back and time I can’t erase,
The memories that I call upon seem clouded in a haze.
An even though you’re gone to you I can’t lie,
I heartbreakingly miss you as each moment goes by.
An I’ll always remember the times that we had,
I miss you so much, my hero my dad….

I tried to respond to this earlier by my internet shut off!! So be warned if you don't see me on tomorrow.

Anyway...back on topic, I also understand the loss of a loved one, it's heart wrenching and something that never leaves our hearts. I don't believe we ever truly 'get over' a death, I do believe we become more aware of it, and also to the fact that we can't get that person back, but we will always have those wonderful memories!!

I lost a sister almost 4 years ago and I still can't get my Mother's wails out of my head. I never ever want to have my Mother experience the death of a child again. A promise I hold dear to my heart.

(I went through some serious and severe depression and I believe that promise to my Mom is what kept me here, as well as the love of my family)

My love goes out to you all!! face hug

Thank you all guys !! hiho Very sweet to feel all the love ! ❤
This brought a tear in my eye again, this time a tear of joy !! Thanks !! face hug

And I agree with you CeCe, you never really 'get over' a death and I think nor should you. As this means these precious ones, who passed away, are still in your heart and you still remember them and care about them.

Big hugs & lots of love to you all !! face hug

Now it's time for a big smile, as I'm sure that's what our precious ones would have wanted to see right now !! :flower: :D :flower:

i know it's very hard to carry on with everyday life when this sad time of year comes around with memories of a lots one.

i to very much know how you must be feeling right now. for me come may it will be 15 years i lots my son to a still birth. it's also hard for Angie knowing i really want kid's of my own and that she can't give them to me.

i know my loss is diferent to yours but it still feels the same. it's a long story. but it involves drink and drugs wile my ex was carrying my son. sadley it was down to her why my son died. he was still born 3 months early.

everytime i watch a film thats has any sad bits in it to do with young ones i have to leave the room. it still hits me like it was yesterday.

but still we have to go on and be strong. and with good friends and family around us it makes things just that little bit easyer.

love and hugs to all of you Brian :) :) XX

Thanks so very much Dylon!! She had these beautiful blue eyes and she did some light modeling. She was 6'2" and could have taken her modeling much higher...she just didn't want to go to Europe; she was terrified of being that far away from home. Very pretty, her oldest son has these beautiful green eyes and favors her so much. It's like still have a piece of her with us!!

*She was over 6 feet, I'm only 5'4 1/2"....I must have left the 'height' line a little earlier!! Shocked :D

It's always good to remember the people you've lost.

This is me and my Dad. I think I was about 3 or 4 in this picture. He died 13 years ago.
Some Time Out 3243_710
He is the whole reason I do what I do and am I who I am. He made me promise him before he died that I would finish school, go to uni and get a stable job. Most importantly that I would take care of Mum. He was such a loving, kind hearted and strong man. He had so much physical and mental strength. Even when he was barely hanging on to his life, he refused to die Sad... He only passed away after my Mum told him it was okay to leave us behind. I always cry when I remember that.

This is my Granny. My Dad's mum. I don't think I have ever met a woman who was more loving and kind hearted. She was amazing.
Some Time Out 3243_711

My Poppy. He was awesomes:
Some Time Out 3243_712
I miss both my Grandparents terribly. They raised me until I went to Kindergarten. No one could cook like my Pop! I miss his lamb chops. Razz

Same here with the Grandparents...you know when they leave behind that kind of love...it means they lived their life the right way through those they loved!

Yeah, my dad was amazing :D Very special indeed.

Grandparents are always fun to hang out with and they love you no matter what mischief you get up to. They care and love you in a different way to your parents, at least I think so. Maybe that's cause they get to give you back to your parents at the end of the day Razz

Usually thinking about my Dad and my grandparents makes me so upset, but for some odd reason all I can think of now is the funny stuff they always used to get up to. Especially my Dad. I'll tell you a funny story about my Papa. It was Christmas and my dad decides he wants to work on his car before he starts cooking. Razz So everyone else is sitting inside talking and waiting and then next thing I hear is "F--king piece of sh-- car!" and then a really loud BANG and when we wandered outside, my dad had kicked a DENT into the side of the car. It was hilarious, cause he never got angry except for when he was working on his car or fixing something else. My Poppy spent the rest of Xmas day banging the dent out for him :D LMAO!

Oh memories are good :D I'm all laughing now :D

That is how they would want you to remember them, they wouldnt want to see you upset. I can remember my nana and grandad taking us to a fairground one day and when my nana got out of the car we noticed she was walking kind of funny and then we saw why ( she had one high heeled shoe on and one slipper) we couldnt move we laughed so much. My nan died on my 30th birthday I miss her so much. bigcry

When I was born only my mom's dad was alive. I was named Sergio because of this gold bracelet that my mother's mom found somewhere in the streets of Paris.
I hardly remember my mom's dad and he died when I was 6. He and my mom didn't get along.

So I grew up without having grannies :)

My father died seventeen years ago.

This may sound silly, but there's this dialogue between Gandalf and Pippin at LOTR III that says: "(...)Death is just another path. One we all must take (...)"

I never forgot that sentence since the first time I heard it. That's how I face my losses, but it's always painfull.

Hugz to you all.
