So...our wonderful member Abeer has suggested that we/she put a thread up at the ts3 forum letting others know of CStyles. I'm not sure which way to go on this as I have many pro's and con's on this.

I felt the best way to handle this was to post a poll and get the other CStyles members involved. In all fairness this action would affect all members of CStyles.

Here are my pro's and con's:

Pro's:
It would promote more membership

It could help CStyles be a even more active forum

It could generate more creators which would also enhance our forum

Con's:
It could bring over ts3's trolls and trouble makers

It could cause a massive over population all at once hence making doing email address checks more time consuming (I do this work)

It could cause threads to easily get lost due to excessive postings

I'm in a kind of like/don't like it mode on this.

I do want to thank Abeer sincerely for wanting to help promote CStyles and give her major huggles on that!!

i thought their was a rule over at the ts3 that you couldn't advertise other forums? i could be wrong though.
cuz people advertize their magazines so who knows.

No alot of people like Bliss advertised Unbound in Ts3 forums and no I checked the rules Stevie it didn't say anything about not advertising forums.

It seems fine with me, but...This is a fun-loving environment, and... you know, I'll just have to see how it goes.

So yeah I haven''t been around for ages but I'll toss my two cents in

I'm kinda on the fence, advertising did give some forums a boost, and others it didn't but it did attract unwanted attention from other sites who like to stir up turf wars, and of course caught the eye of the Mares Nest.

There are new forums popping up everywhere, there's a new one advertising now on the modeling forum, so to get noticed you would prob have to fling names like Shyne, Nygirl, Miss Lochness and Evater around to even get noticed.

I kinda saw Cstyles as above the cheap advertising too, maybe concentrate on the current members bringing their friends here or doing the subtle advertisement with signatures of people who still use the officials. Competitions are a great way to get new folks too, they come for the comp and stay for the community....that's how I came to become a member many many months ago.

Pk and I are on the same page here.

Ah yes PK is right... we don't want anything to do with the Nest... I withdraw my vote. I say no. Just keep it for us. And invite only.

It's like I mentioned to Abeer...making siggy's with a Cstyles banner will garner attention as well as word of mouth. I'm game for PR for Cstyles!! I know Shyne alone has recruited various members just word of mouth and that kind of weeds out the bad from coming in. I truly don't want to have to go on a major ban patrol or troll patrol and since we are limited in moderators that could be tasking. (although we may have a new mod stepping in soon) we are still seriously limited.

I'm still going to leave the poll up...I feel in all fairness that everyone should have a say on it because it will affect everyone. (members)

Maybe you could cash in further with the whole ''We have mysims3blog advertised creators'' by offering some support to new creators, like people who wish to start making CC getting the chance to talk with actual creators about how to start, what tips and tricks they would suggest etc

Its certainly a selling point having this many CC makers, Retexturers and sim creators all in one forum

Have you guys seen the traffic that comes through here alone? We get hundreds of people that peruse this site daily...I've seen it hit a little over a 1,000 one day!! So that alone shows we have some serious talent here!!

I think the forum should be more publicized so. For sure the trolls will come, but you can make a system of punishments against them.
For example:
Offend other users
1 st occurrence: The author's access is blocked for a week.
2 nd occurrence: The author's access is blocked for a month.
3 rd occurrence: The author's access is blocked for him and all their generations for ever and ever lol

Creating more than one account
10 days of access blocked and second (or more) account deleted

And creating a topic for reporting offenses or breaches of rules

And don't forget, guys

I agree with Juliana, but I'm pretty sure we won't get trolls because maybe trolls don't go to the Sims and modeling section.

I really do appreciate all this fantastic feedback and I'm totally thrilled at how you all have banded together on this...Julz my little darling...(I could just squish your sweet little cheeks)...sounding like a real badazz girl!!

I won't lie and say that I'm 100% behind this...and if you notice we have used the word 'troll' in almost every post and that is not good. We seriously, at this moment, don't have the adequate manpower (mods) to watch the site if we get a huge influx of new members.

I'm still on the line with this and still listening to your comments and suggestions!

Depends on where you advertise too

GD will most definitely will be in troll country

Sims and Modeling is safer, but you might not get many people from there mainly because you don't have anyone who is really active on the modeling circuit atm (other than me I think?) and no active modeling competitions. Unless you tailor the advertisement towards those who are looking at creating their own CC, or are more into the sim creation side of things rather than actually modeling.

Its all about who knows you and what you can offer them these days >.<

Maybe if I offer up my body we'll get more members? lol
