...So...awhile back I had started a discussion on the Twilight movies and I decided today...I'm not done discussing it!!! Lol!

If you missed the first one...too bad....hunt for it and read what you missed because I'm just too lazy today to hunt myself and pull it up...but it's not like you need it anyway.

I will start with the first Twilight.

I've decided that I will never visit 'Forks' because of the idiocy of the sheriff. Charlie has lived in Forks all his life and he has not known that some of his dear and close friends (sarcasm) are descendants of werewolves?!?! Are you kidding me. If the Cullen's have lived in Forks for at least 3 years already...then shouldn't the wolves have been out sooner due to the scent of the vampire?
So Charlie has had his head up his arse all this time not knowing that he is drinking beer, eating fried fish and watching football with a werewolf clan?
Nope...I won't be going to Forks anytime soon...

And on anther note...how in the world is Dr. Cullen...a doctor? At some point he has to touch his patients right....so how does he do this with his body temp being freezing cold?

LOL the good ole twilight debate! While I would love to search around and see your first post, I am afraid that I am just as lazy as you! lol.

While I have read all the books and seen the movies, I wouldn't say it's the best vampire series out there...not even close, yet on the other hand I have to give Stephanie Myers props to taking the legend of vampires and making it her own. Though overly exaggerated, it was a bit refreshing to see a different take on vampires. No I'm not a Twi-hard or what ever those people are called, I can't say I loved the movies/books but on the other hand I can't say I hated it either, I have read and seen much worse.

My understanding to the whole vampire/warewolf thing with the Cullens in Forks is that there was a agreement/pact what ever, that neither vampire and warewolf were to cross over into the others land, no matter what, So lets assume that the "warewolves" were out just unable to do much of anything due to the treaty.

I agree with you there on Charlie. Either is was too drunk the whole time to notice or he really is a naive dumbass...but I'm guessing both. And the one thing that really got to me, as a parent, wouldn't you frickin know if your daughter was dating someone that wasn't seemingly human? I mean come on now that super pale skin, those eyes...only a true idiot wouldn't think something was wrong here...then again it is Charlie as we have already discussed!

he couldnt have noticed guys because the last tribesman to turn was jacobs great grandfathers era i believe ... The only reason they started turning into wolves was because of the increase in vampire presence...

The treaty was made to dr cullen, his wife esme, edward and Rosalie. Jasper and Alice came when they moved back to forks ..so instead of 4 vampires there was 6 ...then james clan is a clan of 3... so with the presence of 9 vampire (minus james at the end of twilight) the wolves began to change ....

And I agree with Charlie being a little lost to whats going on in town BUT you have to think why would he believe in wolves if he never saw one? Maybe he didnt hear the stories. LOL besides he's a pale face ...They have no imagination lol

The hospital is cold ...Maybe he wore gloves... maybe he told them he's anemic ...lol idk


I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE BOOKS ...The movies suck but it gives me a lil bit of a visual so I am grateful for them lol ....

1. I find nothing scary about a sparkly vampire. "Oooh I'm so frightened, a walking talking ball of glitter is going to bite me!!! aaahhh"

2. Bella is a straight player. She's way into these mind games, and frankly, if she when to school with me, there's a certain word that would be used to describe her. I think you know what I mean... it starts with an "S" and ends in "LUT".

3. Can someone please explain to me how a dead man can impregnate someone? If he's dead, then I'm sorry, but so are his swimmers.

I find the whole sparkly vampire thing to be a new twist on an old story... Giving a whole other look at these damned souls...

What I don't understand is why a girl who admits to being very ordinary and under the radar goes to a new school and becomes a HOT nessecity... I dont care how new you are... if anyone was as boring and strange as she, they would be hiding out in the bathroom on the 4th floor in HS. LOL

I just love how different it was. Here i was thinking it was gonna be a normal vampire story and it turned into an intriguing read. A love triangle.

And since Charlie has lived in Forks his whole life, I'm sure at some point he had to have heard of the wolf clan. How does his daughter come in town and within weeks is aware there are vampires and shortly thereafter 'oh...yeah...some wolves as well'?

I mean come on...being 'pale' is one thing...but the Cullen's made pale look tan. Edward and his lipstick, they ALL wear the same color contacts...didn't someone think that was a little bit much. I could see if everyone in town looked like them but this was a bit freaky.

And how does Bella kiss Edward and not get frost bitten?

And I'm aware of the treaty and all...but how is it that the Indians can come into Forks and go wherever they want, but the Cullen's can't even go to the beach where the reservation is? I thought a treaty was a two way thing.

And I have to agree with Evie...sparkly vampires...def NOT.

I liked watching the movies don't get me wrong, it just had too many inconsistencies to make it even remotely believable. And the author claimed to never had done any research on vampires or werewolves...I can truly NOT believe that. I just think she wanted to make it veer into a different facet of fantasy instead of the old blood and horror sorts.

And Bella with her plain Jane, hesitating every other word as she speaks, no emotion self...I agree...how does she come into town and all of a sudden she is the 'it' girl in town?

Before the movie was created the books were popular amongst my then 14 year old peers. After numerous rave reviews and peer pressure, I attempted to open the book and read it. As I painfully got through the first chapter and threw the book against the wall and that was the end of that.

The author says she knows how to tell stories but admits to not knowing how to write which is probably why there are so many spelling ,structure and grammatical errors(she seriously needs to fire her editor, if she has one. she needs one)

I agree...I don't see all the ohh's and ahh's over Edward...I just don't get it. His acting in the movie sucked...almost as much as Bella's and I thought the only one who could really act was Jacob. I kind of sensed the author as being a bit childish also because she always has the guys wrestling around in some part of each movie. What is up with that?

I know there are some true die hard Twi fan's and I admit I watched the movies and I didn't get seriously repulsed by it, but it was like watching a kiddie movie also. It had no real depth nor meaning to it, the character's are so emotionless and it just basically goes around circles without advancing much.

Sparkly vampires...I have to admit I did do a lol on that one!! And the 'werewolves' look just like cute doggies, HUGE doggies, but did not look at all fearsome. Their size would intimidate me but nothing else.

Speaking of werewolves, I didn't quite understand the non shirt wearing of the wolves. I didn't mind the view...ahem...but I just didn't get it. I wasn't quite sure about what actually took place in this transition since when Jacob did his flying leap into a dog action he basically did not loose his attire.

But after the big battle and Jacob gets hurt, he is writhing on the ground butt nekked while the others walk out of the woods dress as if they had never been nekked wolves in a big vampire fight.

So...how does this work...it just didn't make any sense.

Oh...and I do this with a lot of movies, I am literally OCD when it comes to spotting things that just don't add up in movies!

Well it does seem a bit childish your right, but that's because it is aimed more towards teens, which are pretty much still children to me.

And with the guys always wrestling around just reiterates what type of audience it is aimed after...all teenage boys like to roughhouse, show off etc.

Though what I really don't understand...why write a series of books aimed towards teens and young teens when clearly the last book is anything but pg-13...that's kind of moronic if you ask me. It's like dangling candy in a kids face and saying "you can have it when you turn 17" I just don't really see the last 2 movies either one which ever they get into the whole spiel of her being pregnant, being anything but rated R. My step daughter has friends that have watched twilight...she's 9...NO WAY IN HELL WOULD I EVER let her watch these movies or read the book.

The movie doesnt add upp because you didnt read the book... I myself didnt even read them in order ...But it will be interesting to see how they flub the movie up ...

I pictured the characters so much differently when reading... smh

I dont think 9 years olds should personally be reading about high school love and prom sex of 17/18 yr old students... but what can I say I read a Sister Soulja book at 10 so who am I to judge lol

Kami I seriously don't think anyone would need to read the books to see the flaws. I've read many books that made me really want to see the movie when it was filmed...but I seriously doubt that I would have been any more interested in the movies even if I had read the books. I think NOT reading the books and just hearing all the hype is what made me curious enough to want to see the movies. And you shouldn't have to read a book made into a movie to understand where it's headed or even fully understand it. My op of course.

I do get the pg-13 thing, but they made Bella a true horn dog always begging Edward for sex, they kiss and moan like they are having sex and yet...(spoiler alert) they marry and have sex while she is still human!! One of Edward's excuses for not having sex with her was because he feared he would hurt or kill her...(my my my...I'd risk it if a man told me that) I'd be like 'hurt me baby...just hurt meh'!!

So he decided ok, well we are married and it doesn't matter if I hurt you or kill you now while making love...?

I've read enough about the books to see where the movies do try and follow the book as true to written words as possible, but the writer seems to be a bit too generic and too repetitive in her writings of each move to then on the final movie (I think this is the final...even though it say's part 1) She totally blows it into a R rated movie.

spoiler alert again:

They have sex and it shows Edward literally ripping the headboard off the bed. (time for a cold glass of water here...brb) Now mind you...he realizes he is making love to a human Bella but he gets so rough that the next day she is black and blue.

She then starts begging him for sex but he refuses because of the first experience. (frigid much Edward?) But he finally gives in and she gets preggers.

The baby literally starts killing her and rips out of her while nearly crushing her pelvis and breaking some ribs. (this could be a good thing...make young girls think twice before having unprotected sex!) lol!

I found this trailer and thought I'd share it. It doesn't look like a bad sequel...but it totally is a different set up than the first 3 movies.

Oh...forgot to mention...this sequel received HORRIBLE reviews yet I think it looks better than all the others IMO.

My husband tells me I'm insane, but I have to watch crappy movies to know that they are indeed crappy.

The last one he watched with me was Avatar, and I kinda wish I had seen it in 3D because at least it would have been pretty looking, cause the story was ripped off version of a variety of different movies....though I still fondly refer to it as being a cross between pocahontas and Fern Gully hehe.

He refused to watch Twilight, but I had to watch it....and I swear that stuff like that makes the teens of this generation dumb, the dialogue is crappy, the characters are so one dimensional. The only thing it does do right is proves that even ugly guys like Robert Patterson can be seen as a sex symbol given the right publicity.

I saw one and two....but after hearing that Bella gets pregnant when vampires are DEAD, (that sperm has passed its used by date), it just finally put me off....it's like when someone told me they had pixies in True Blood...I mean seriously....does no-one else see how stupid that sounds lol

I believe they should've let the author choose who she wanted to play the characters she created. It wouldve made for a sexy ass Edward.

The only people I believe fits the role even a little bit is little Alice ..though she is taller then bella which the book clearly states she is not ...Rosalie because at one point I could picture the actor hovering over bella while she is slowly dying with the demon baby. and Dr Cullen.

Jacob is suppose to be like lik 6'8 at no point is taylor lautner reaching that height lol

Yes Bella is finally in love and wants to experience sex with the person she loves. Edward only agreed to take her virginity in marriage because he felt like she wouldnt agree to it considering what her parents went through.

Oh I LOVE Alice and her little perky character! And Dr. Cullen I love his acting style! You can tell he is a somewhat seasoned actor; he delivers his role seamlessly without all that speech hesitation.

Yep...Jacob is supposed to be this huge, muscular hulking type dude and although Jacob is fine, muscular....tall is not his role.

See...I do read, and do a bit of research and it seems to prompt that Bella did not get preggers until the second encounter, that's when she notices that her belly is already growing and she has cramps.

Not trying to bring...'race' into it...but why the lack of black actors in the movie? An entire High School and you think we would have seen more than the waitress, the vampire and the black guy who just about ran over Bella.

Overall...I do think this sequel looks much better than the previous movies...but that could be because it's generated more on a adult level although I heard that there was some talk of making a movie but toning it down for the pg-13 crowd.

Although it looks interesting...I'm also wondering if we have seen the best parts of it in the trailer. I want to see it...but I can wait for it to come out on dvd or cable.

The best parts of movies are ALWAYS in the trailer. I get so bummed out when I see a great trailer and I am completely disappointed by the movie because the only good parts were in the trailer!

As for the lack of black actors in the movies...Forks I believe is supposed to be a small town, after leaving the city I moved to a small town my junior year in high-school and there were only 2-3 black kids in my class...all adopted/foster children with white parents, the rest were all white...so maybe with the storyline being set in Forks there isn't a very large black community? It could be possible?

I don't know how they can tone down these last 2 movies to make them PG-13 without leaving out so many key points of the plot...impossible!

As for the whole dead guy getting the girl pregnant, it's as believable as the legend of vampires itself, I mean you don't have a heartbeat, nor do you need to breathe...how the hell can you get someone pregnant let alone be walking around with humans and interacting with them as if you are one??? It's all fantasy and intended to be so.

I just never saw why Bella fell in love with Edward in the first place, it was really a pathetic love story tbh, he keeps telling her how much he wants to drink her blood and she just swoons over him like a total moron.
The character of Bella is such a miserable person too. I think the movie did a better job at making their love story seem plausible, and it made Bella seem less of a self absorbed emo too.

I've never understood why some people had to add ''Vampire births'' to their vampire mythology, but I suppose it's not too bad of a concept if you see Vampires as another species (like demons) rather than the walking dead like some fantasy writers do. I dunno I'm just an old fuddy duddy when it comes to my vampires.....give me Anne Rice or Buffy vamps any-day compared to the new generation Blade and Twilight vamps.

I might have to see the new one just so see Bella get shagged lol, I'm actually curious to see how they intend to PG13 it all now (just read the synopsis of the last book that I never bothered reading)

OMG I was thinking the same thing, the second movie was just as boring as the first up until the whole Jacob turning into a wolf thing happened.....but we saw that scene in the trailer so there was like....little point to seeing the movie lol

I think the second movie totally bored me senseless. Edward leaves, Bella screams in her sleep, she sits at the empty table, rides a motorcycle with a complete stranger and see's mist impressions of Edward, buys junk cycles and convinces Jacob to fix them up, they ride, she see's Edward, she crashes the bike and tells Jacob he is 'kind of beautiful.' She finds out Jacob is a wolf, she meets the other wolves, leads Jacob on, ALMOST kisses Jacob, runs to save Edward and all is well.

The main parts of the movie all in one paragraph...
