I need to remove my ea preference folder from my computer library

I'm experiencing a weird problem. As some know, I recently uninstalled and re installed my game so I could patch it. Some problems, but with the help of several here we got it figured out! Now i'm experiencing a new problem that I hope is easily solved.

I went on Google looking for a solution and the only one that shows a fix is listed for a MAC computer and not Vista.

Some of my cc is not showing up in game that I have used the launcher to download it. Some of my homes for instance, it will say that it's downloaded but when I go in game the house is not there.

On the Sims 3 forum someone states that it's fixable by going to
username>library>sims 3 preference (I think this is the order) and simply deleting the folder.

This is for a MAC computer and I am on a Vista Studio lap top. We don't have a preference area nor can I spot any of this other stuff. I Googled this situation and it seems that we are not supposed to have this same equipment howevver I have to assume that we can have this folder in our games. I just need to know how to locate it in my computer so I can remove it and see if it works.

I've probably confused most as I feel very confused myself. I worked on this for hours last night!

Anybody have a clue?

we dont have a preference folder....i did a search for it on our computer and nothing came up...You can try deleting your preference notepad file in your documents....it's gonna say the name of your computer and .... mine is called : xcpt TRADEWINDDOXIES 12-04-16 22.07.12

Thanks Dach!! I don't know if they will have the same affect that the one that is mentioned, but it's worth a try. I'm also wondering if maybe I need to do that pet's fix thing that is on TSR. I will keep you posted!

You need to for sure do that...be sure to follow the instructions for installing the fix.

I tried to work on it last night, the rig fix, but as hard as I tried I could not find the proper granny 2009. I must have searched and tried countless ones thinking I had the right one and just could not find it. I will try to continue to look for it again tonight. Did you use the pet rig fix Dach?

This is the link to the correct granny file...place it in the directory with the TSR fix...
C:/Program files/The Sims Resource/TSR RegFix/

Make sure you place it exactly that way....
Then run it (The Fix) on your DCCashe, DCBackup (if you keep those files,,,you know those files you do not have to keep but then CC wont upload with your houses and sims is all..), Mods/packages folder...I rerun the fix every time i download something...You never know if it is encrypted or not....the fix un-encrypts it is all...

Ok, will try again tomorrow but if it starts to look like I need a wig because I have tore out every single hair on my head.... maybe I will just let it go. Nope...can't do it, I have to try again. I just don't want to lose my home. It's my fav piece of work.

Same thing happened with some sims I installed via the launcher. Said they had installed successfully and then they were nowhere to be seen.

I have the same thing happening...install certain items or sims with the launcher and then it doesn't show as installed. Driving me nuts.

Welcome to the invisible items club! This is so aggravating! Mac owners can fix theirs but PC can't. Hopefully someone will work this out eventually and soon.

i think they still show in game
but i want them to show on the launcher cuz you never know when i will want to delete it...
