Subject: Sliders and package files. October 14th 2012, 11:30 pm
So I'm a mac and I think the Mods file in the correct place, Documents and such, but my sliders and package files are still not working.
My game is like 1.2.7.1, and CC works, but it's sims3pack files.
Somebody, help, please?

sliders and patch need to be made in the same patch numbers. example being that patches 1.39 require sliders that are meant for 1.39 or lower

Sliders are not made for a specific patch.
The only patch that affected sliders came with Pets, and it affected body sliders (chest, neck width, etc)
But a slider hack is a core hack that does need to match your patch.
You need a slider hack if you want to install more than 20 sliders. If you try installing more than 20 sliders without a hack, certain sliders will "break" in CAS - this can be a base game slider OR a custom slider.
So, no packages are showing up at all? How many sliders have you tried to install?

Nothing has shown up at all. I can't remember exactly.

Hmmm. Well, when you have time, check your packages folder and see how many you files you have in there? It's important to check because you shouldn't try to load extra sliders unless you have a hack to allow it - it's going to mess up your game.
If you're confused about which ones are sliders, I would simply delete them and redownload - making sure to label the files as you go.
Even if you have every slider that has been made for TS3, they've only been published by a handful of people, so they are easy to find. All of us here (that use sliders) pretty much use the same ones (By Bellalek/Ahmad, aWT, Jonha, etc.). So we can help you locate the sliders you need/send them to you.
About the slider hack, I'm guessing you did not try to install one? I know it's a pain, but if you don't know what you have in your game, it's hard for others to help. It also means you could easily download something that conflicts.
Also, I would consider patching. I don't think there are slider hacks available that match the patch number you said your game was on.
If you don't want to patch all the way up to 1.39, if you check out Sims VIP here : http://simsvip.com/category/patches/ you can literally pick the patch you want to be updated to.
The launcher does not allow you to "pick your patch" this way - it automatically updates you to the latest one. However, every major mod has been updated to 1.39, so in my opinion, if you are going to update - you might as well fully update.
You can use Sims VIP if you want to bypass Origin/Launcher to install the update. I hope that wasn't too confusing. I believe that the website has instructions with the patch download, anyway.
If your framework - the folder where you are installing your mods/packages is incorrect, your game will not display ANY mods, no matter what patch you are on. Make sure to read this: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_3:Installing_Package_Files and see that you have followed all the instructions.

Thank you! But I know I tried to download the patch, but I guess it's not Mac supported. But still thank you!

Not Mac supported!? You mean ea didn't make a Mac update patch? You might want to check the main forum just to be sure because I thought they made sure to include Mac when they updated or patched. If there is no info on it there, maybe contact ea and see if they can assist you. :'( That would truly suck if they didn't add Mac!
