I downloaded the movie theater - Le Cinema Plumbob - from the EA store a couple days ago. I have installed it repeatedly and the game says it's been installed but it won't show up in my community lot bin in my game. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it - I get the same result. Any idea why it's not showing up in game? Or what I can do to fix the problem?

Sorry...I don't have the movie theater... Did you check the main forum to see if this is a problem all around?

I didn't see anyone mention they also had problems with it but, in the past, I've seen the occasional simmer post about problems getting EA store items to show up in game. I've never experienced the problem before so never paid attention to the posts - lesson learned. I have posted to the technical board and got a response telling me to try this: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:GCCTSU3_Start I ran through the entire process and it still doesn't show up in my game. I forced my launcher to update and I've tried downloading other items from the store - they loaded correctly. It is just the theater I can't seem to get to work. I tried uninstalling and redownloading/ reinstalling and it still won't show up.

I don't have the venue installed - I've got a decrapped version of the venue, but the act of decrapping breaks certain objects (which is why you usually need to download a fix) - but you've got a legitimate copy, so I'm not sure what's gone wrong here. I honestly haven't come across the same problems, at least not for the theater, but I'll be sure to post back here if I find anything out. I'm stumped on this one. :\

I'm wondering if it could be one of my mods interfering. I pulled all my NRaas mods out of my game yesterday but my game wouldn't start afterwards. I put the mods back in and it works again. University really doesn't like mods and yet I can't take them out. WTH is that about?

Certain NRAAS mods can't just be pulled out of a save because they inject interactions that the game otherwise doesn't have/use. I'm talking stuff like Story Progression or Woohooer. Before removing them, you have to use Master Controller to "Reset Everything/Reset Entire Town" before saving - I think the option can be found on the Master Controller menu when you click on the Town Hall building, for easy access. This resets all objects/sims so no one is partaking in any interaction/no object is being used. That way, you can safely pull these mods out without a conflict. There are a lot of mods that are compatible with patch 1.50 at a glance - basically they don't directly conflict with the codebase, but when you actually have University installed, some mods cause some gameplay issues. It stinks but this stuff basically is discovered on a player-to-player, test as you go basis. After reading through some MTS threads, Crinrict put together the following: NRAAS Master Controller Integration prevents the new party types introduced by University NRAAS Error Trap resets sims going to the Welcome Meeting NRAAS Written Word/Anti-Magic Scroll can prevent sims from going to certain classes NRAAS Portrait Panel makes room mates incorrectly show up in the Portrait Panel NRAAS Traveler can cause sims to show up at University with no skills whatsoever, despite their history. Twallan's working on repairing his mods - but until he gives the final word, there are definitely bugs likely to arise with certain NRAAS mods. You should be fine running Master Controller, but there are little bugs present in many of the other modules.

Not petty at all!! You paid $17 for something you can't even see in game! So no...I see nothing petty about that all. I'd say a call to customer service is next if you can't get the theater to show up. It's not worth the money to NOT call. As for the ick's on the mods....luckily I don't have any of those!! I came 'this' close to introducing integration but didn't. I'm sure he will have this fixed...he is always great about keeping his mods/hacks fully updated and functional.

I've deleted everything I can from my game - caches, saved games, etc and then removed my NRaas mods and my game refuses to start. I put my mods back and my game starts fine. I've tried everything I can think of and the theater still won't install. I guess I'll contact customer service tomorrow. Right now I have to go to work.

It's a brand new venue so it does not surprise me that it has a bug. I also am not surprised because they threw it out RIGHT behind the release of Uni...whenever Ea does things like this, way too close together....it's recipe for something(s) not going to work right. I'm am 100% confident that others have experienced this same problem and so I'm sure customer service has received more than a couple of calls. Call them, maybe tell you want to be reimbursed until they can fix the venue. Just suggestions, but I do hope you get it worked out. I know there for a bit, the store totally sucked...it wouldn't show half of what you had purchased from them and it seems it took forever to fix it....but finally they did! I had to complain because I was getting so angry seeing stuff that I paid for just sitting there.

Well, I fixed the problem. Not exactly the ideal solution but it worked. I was in my game and noticed I was missing a lot of EA store items - especially premium content - so. . . . . . . I got a little pissed. Yeah, yeah, yeah, my patience ran out. I figured I had nothing to lose at that point so deleted the .ebc files from the DCCache folder. The .ebc files are what EA store items are converted in to once they are installed. So deleting the files deleted ALL my store content. I went and redownloaded my store items and reinstalled them. Poooof! They are all in my game including the theater. Oh, and NOW I get a response on the forum. A woman posted this link: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3-Store/FAQ-The-Sims-3-Store/td-p/333394 - See this section "I can't find the venue I've installed". A few minutes to late but. . . . . pretty much the same thing.

How did you decide to eliminate those files? That was pretty smart! Glad it shows up for you now...you will have to let us know how it is! I was going to do a uninstall/reinstall and was going into game to make sure I had all my homes saved, and I prefer to have them exported as well and had decided it was going to be a long night. I am stunned! My game not only loaded super quick but NO lag, it did take awhile to save and export the homes but otherwise it was working fine. I tested out CAS...same thing...worked fine and I did NOTHING to it! Weird.... Now...let's see how it does tonight...

I knew from reading this: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game%20Help:TS3%20User%20Folders%20Explained that the .ebc files were the store content. I figured if store content wasn't going to show up then to start all over and I thought it'd be easier this way then searching through and deleting it piece by piece. And a side perk - I got rid of a lot of stuff I never use.

OMG - when did EA change their customer service? When did it go from spending 2 or 3 days emailing them to fix a problem to spending 5 minutes (granted I sat on hold for 15 minutes) on live chat to fix the problem? Well played EA - Well played indeed! Thank you! I now have my Party Pack and Partaeus Maximus Statue.

@pdx...I need to check and make sure that I have those extra's. I got mine digital via Amazon...through Origin, and it just didn't say 'limited edition' on Origin, but I bought the limited edition on Amazon. The great thing about Amazon is they are AMAZING when it comes to customer service and quick response, so if there is a mix up then they eagerly fix anything that comes through them. Where do I look for these things exactly? Have you heard about the major fiasco called, "SimCity?" People were seriously PISSED OFF that they could only play the game online and it is a hot stinking mess!! Amazon pulled it off their site and has offered refunds to anyone that wants one that purchased it through them!! I say...you GO Amazon!! Obviously not everyone kisses Ea's ass! Of course...Origin has NOT offered the same curtesy. But like I said...mine was 'purchased' through Amazon. And WHAT?! Customer service with Ea was....*stutters* nnniiceee?! I guess they got enough complaints and finally listened!! Yay!! @mamx....I cleaned up a few 'tiny' bits of cc...mostly clutter, cleared my cache after and loaded it up! I have NO idea what else could have made her behave and this now is 2 nights in a row!! I had NO hiccups at all!! Now...let's see today if I can actually get to the University!! *fingers crossed* The Sim I'm sending hasn't received her package....BUT...another person in the house got a notice that her welcome basket was in her backpack...I checked and it's there...and I didn't even enroll her at all. I have absolutely NO idea what's is going on with my game...but I say...'I'm not complaining' as long as it continues to behave correctly!! I did notice one teeny tiny thing...my female Sims skin overlay by Buh***something is not showing up on my girls!! The dudes look fine. Now I'm seriously nervous to reinstall Seasons...
