So now a NEW problem with my game. I go in game, I've went in CAS, with no problem, I've went into buy/build mode...no problem, but now when I try to have my Sims talk to each other...they freeze! The fish tank still moves, the bushes still move, everything else in the game still moves, but my Sims just freeze.
I can't click anything to get them to move because the game is locked up since they are frozen. I've already done an uninstall/reinstall recently and refuse to do that all over again.
I've checked the internet, many people are having this problem and I've checked the Ea forums and found several are having the very same problem...but so far, no absolute solution.
I'm so frustrated right now!! So what happens when the Island game comes out? I want to get it, but should I even trust getting that when I can't even play my Sims?! It played fine until just a few days ago and I've added nothing new to my game. If anything, I cleaned out a ton of cc when I reinstalled my game! I got my computer and my game ready for this next ep. I went through and made sure all my drivers were up to date, did a defrag so that would clean up any space and cleaned out a lot of my cc. ...for now...

I'm sorry. That sucks.
My game used to freeze-up like that. With mine it would randomly freeze, not in CAS or build mode but in live-mode. The wind would still be blowing the trees and you could hear background noises like the birds chirping but the game was frozen.
I think it was a random pet was stuck or some routing issue on a lot that wasn't mine.
I installed overwatch and sometimes that would clean up 'stuck sims' or 'vehicles'. I never have the freezing anymore, but then again, I have since bought a new computer.
I also uninstalled Pets even though I really miss it, I think sometimes the pets get stuck.
Sorry I'm not any help.
I hope you can get it working.

Do you have Nraas Error Trap? It helps. I used to use Overwatch too, but it started causing problems, so I took it out. I don't get the freezing up as much, but every once in a while it does happen.
Someone also said computers do this because of ram issues. I posted on another thread about a free program that I use now called Gamebooster which helps in this regard.

Thanks ladies for responding! Mysims, I did have overwatch, but it seemed like every time it gave a notification it would seriously lag my game. I got frustrated with it because I couldn't figure out how to stop it from displaying so I removed.
Eden, I don't have error trap either, I had it installed for a hot second but it seemed like it lagged my game also, so I removed it.
The other odd thing is I'm not getting any error codes in my game file. I truly don't understand why it just started doing this only a few days ago.
The forum on Ea, I have found several with this same problem but supposedly Ea is aware of it as well and has promised a 'patch' for it...but that's been MONTHS ago! I don't know if they plan to incorporate a 'fix' when they release the Island game, like they mostly do or if they plan to just continue to ignore it, which is not uncommon for Ea.

Ok, I've went through my game and examined just about every crook and crevice that I can. I have noticed that I get this message that my game has found an unroute able sim, how do I fix this and could this maybe be the reason my Sims in my household are getting stuck? And what causes a Sim to become un route able? I ask this so I can possibly avoid in the future.

Well, I'm no expert in any stretch of the imagination but I would think that could cause the game to freeze. And one of the nraas mods (I think it's overwatch) has a bunch of things that it addresses and one of them is 'check for stuck sims'.
Also can you do that resetsim * ? I think that's supposed to reset all sims in your town.
I know that the nraas mods slow my game up but I think it's SP that is the one that produces all the notifications so maybe don't install that one.
Or maybe you could post a new topic on Nraas' site.
I hope you find something that works.

Thanks Mysims! I plan to go in game later today and see if I can locate the stuck sim, and 'unstick' her! Lol! I need to figure out how to do that first...this is a brand new error with me so trying to fix it is going to take finding out how to fix it first...if that makes any sense!
I'm just surprised that this error has not even been addressed by Ea since it is a fairly common error.
