I really want to install the HQ mod by S-Club Privee and I'm seeing everywhere that you have to install it in the game/bin folder and this doesn't make sense to me because they are a bin AND game folder on my comp.

ex.
computer>OS (C:)>Program Files (x86)>Electronic Arts> The Sims 3>Game>Bin


so which folder do I put it in? The game or bin folder? I tried looking on youtube for a tutorial and nothing came up. And there isn't a GAME/BIN folder when I go through my folders like I would with packages/simpacks. i.e. Documents>EA>TheSims3>Mods or Downloads

I hope I am making sense and I hope someone can specifically help me in full detail. I feel so dumb and I have no clue who else to ask. I really want to play by the time my daughter takes a nap and create a story and haven't played in forever and now I finally have a chance and I'm upset that either my computer is ridiculous or I can't follow directions. Any help is greatly appreciated! Seriously! Thanks oh so very much.

the game bin folder is usally in the  computer /program files or for some computer /program files (86x)

make sure you copy  any files you are replacing   in case you need to put the orginal back in . you can put the files where you think it needs to be   and try it. it shouldnt hurt anything. just copy paste  backup in case you need to put it back
   i use dach mods to get clearer brighter cas lighting myself. those do go on the game bin  folder too.

Weird. Maybe there are different folder hierarchies depending on the game version or something like that – in my installation the Bin folder is inside the Game folder just like S-Club Privée describes it.

But the important thing to consider here is that the "GraphicsRules.sgr" file in the HQ mod is supposed to replace the one in the base TS3 installation. It's probably in your Bin folder, but if it isn't you should look for it's actual location and replace it there. It's most likely not a good idea to have both files in place at the same time.

it goes inside the bin,if you go and look inside that folder you will one inside it. good luck

Hmm ok I actually looked back at what you all said and I think I know what to do. There isn't anything in my Bin folder to replace, so I wonder if I am missing something? It only says "Packs" when I click on the "Bin" folder.

oh that dont sound right at all.in fact i think you in the wrong area on your computer , that sound like  the bin folder in my document  electronic folder game  bin folder. wrong one. you need to go in the operation system which is  os.look for that in the files directory  under computer when you are rooting around in your start menu button and see all the  areas of your computer showing up. u can find it im sure.

here what my is  i have a win7  computer with program x86, some will have program files 

os
program files x86
electronic arts
the sims3
game---- that one is the first one as in base game
bin
then you will see like 7 folders inside that bin and other files extras and the GRAPHICS RULES SGR  file in there.

if all else fail
use the search programs and files feature and type in graphics rules to find the orginal file and go looking for where it is on the computer that will likely be the one u are looking for

I used the search feature and I have been looking in the right place and still no graphics file.sgr to be found =/ I guess I'll just try to put it in my bin folder via the program files and see if that does anything. I wonder why I don't have the file. I might end up uninstalling and reinstalling University and maybe it will reappear. Of course that is a last resort. Nope didn't make a difference at all. I wish I effing knew. I am so frustrated. I will kiss the feet of whomever can figure this b.s. out because my pics I take from the game look rough AF.

i dont understand it at all wow.mine is 306 mb and has in that bin folder some ,489 files , some 97 folders . so taht a lot missing , this problem is so beyond me

Well thanks for taking the time to help anyways. I am just going to try to uninstall and such tomorrow. I really don't want to because of how many simspack files I have and I'll have to wait another 50 hours to download them back in the game  This would happen to me.  Or maybe I can see if my graphics are set on high in the game in the first place and see if my pics still come out looking a hot mess.

I did that too and then eventually just started buying directly from Origin. Maybe KK is on to something...fingers crossed!

that orgin  folder would make so much sense yes. the empty  bin folder make sense too being leftover from being uninstalled . mmm.
