Subject: Make a Sim December 2nd 2011, 7:09 am

First topic message reminder :

I thought I would start posting pictures of sim like people that I find on the internet and especially seeing as how many of us loved making the one i used for Hairette...So here is the first sims challenge...No real deadline but I will start posting a picture a week so if we pass you buy just refer to the picture you used by numbers......thought this would be fun...Also some of these artworks there i no way to find the items to make them exact...what i am looking for and what you should be doing is making your version or interpretation of what you feel these artworks mean to you...That could be a huge range of ideas...no one is wrong in what they make...No ones skill level is not good enough to do this...even if you are a beginner these pictures are meant to only be a guide...you should remember that we do not want to copy them completely...that would be plagiarism anyway....so do your thing with these...

(also this Zakk0 is not the artist...its just someone on the exchange that is making sims from pictures and marking all over the art his/her name...Not sure if that is the right thing to do...especially when this is not your art...but anyway...just wanted to put that here so you know i am not taking someone's art and posting it...cuz i have no idea who made these or i would link to that site......):

Shyne,I really like yours,she has the same feeling as the pic,mysterious!
The orange one is crazy cute too!Awesome job!These are really hard to do,but so much fun!
I ended up doing two,LOL,number 7 and number 15.Number 15 was more of an inspiration rather then trying to recreate the sim hiho

I also photoshopped the lighting and softened edges!

I'll get number 15 really soon too,just want to touch things up!

Jaedub where did u get the eyelashes at? the winter one...her eyelashes i love them wow...they are both wows in my book...these are fun...tomorrow i am off to do one.

You did awesome...This is suppose to be our interpretation of these pictures...there is no way to get them exact...its for fun Sweetie..did you have fun making her? If it was i am throwing this computer out the window that you had then yes this probably wasn't what you would want to do but if this was inspiring which it looks like it was then I know for one i am glad you did it...Now do not forget I would love to download your model when you are ready to upload her...some do not like to share their models.

I agree with Robin,Shyne,yours is fantastic!I think you did awesome getting the feel and likeness of the sim.These pics are more for inspiration and guidance,it sure has my creative juices flowing!Im having a blast! happy *NEW*

I don't want to share her because she looks unnatural... I didn't have fun making her actually, it felt like I was restricted to a certain look and I really dislike being restricted in any way when creating something - and yes I understand the whole purpose of the exercise is to restrict yourself to a picture, but I don't like it as much as free form. At least with free form I can make a Sim look the way I like - they actually look a little more real that way lol But thanks for thinking I did a good job... I mean look at IN3S's version... I'm sorry but... I flunked.

There is one problem regarding uploading/sharing these models. We don't know who the original owners are or even where they came from so we really don't have permission to post them. Recreating them for fun, but I don't know how much we will cross the line if we shared them. Maybe among ourselves but for general public we could encounter some issues.
Just my views...anyone else thoughts, suggestions or ideas on this is way appreciated!!

Weird how you mentioned that Cece, I was just thinking about that while making the short-haired girl. I don't think we should upload them unless we somehow find out who or where the pix came from.

yeah i think that is true if the models resembles them so much that they can tell but like my hairette she looks some but not like that picture enough to where that artist would even know i used it...so i think that we need to be careful and i think it depends on how much they look like the models...its probably best to keep them to ourselves and send them to who wants it if they request it in a pm...might be nice to keep a few sims for ourselves anyway...i know all my sims are all out there. I have no sims just for me.

I agree that it should be fine seeing as these are more like creative interpretations.

I did model number 8, I can't seem to get her quite the way I want, but I figured I'd post a pic.

I think if you did decide to share them you would have to maybe change them around some to make them their own sim instead of one after the pictures....

I found it on tsr, it's a set. It has high waist shorts with it. Very cute outfit. Would you like me to locate the link for you! And thankies for the compliment, I just hate the shadow under her bottom lip but couldn't get rid of it. Razz

Well thank you mam but i will say that her nose isn't flat enough on the bridge and the slider wouldn't go any lower...i am sure if i reset the percentage then it would have but that was more work then i wanted to do today.

Wow thanks! The hair is by Cazy but idk if it's still available for download... I got it from her old blog. The eyeliner it's from Watermelon Field, i think xD

This is always open to anyone...there is no time limit here....and any of the pictures are available to anyone to use. Although uploading of the sims is done at your own risk due to copy-write infringements on the artist whom made these photos. I uploaded mine because there was enough difference between the sim and the picture.
