I'm researching Mod folders and reading that the DCCache is it, I have four folders that say only windows can open. The backup DCCache has a bunch of those long names with package files that say the same thing, windows can't open, pck from a list or pick from web service box.
Am I suppose to make a folder as some are recommending in the forum and if so how do I go about that. I would like to learn how to be able to go in and pull up these sims3 and cc packages and look for these things. I downloaded the programs from Mod that Angie recommended and unzipped them, far as I got.

hi snowee ok i will give you a step by step guide on how to do a mod folder/packages folder
1 - click on documents 2 - open up Electronic Arts 3 - open that folder 4 - right click in a space and click on new in the drop down list 5 - name this folder Mods 6 - open this folder 7 - again right click in here to make a new folder call this one packages 8- this is where you will put your downloaded sims3 packages

the way i look at it broomie is if i have a little bit of knowledge and i can pass that on i will....its the only way to be...and i totally agree with you hun cstyles is full with awesome people and i am so proud to be part of it....

May I add:
Make sure you're resource.cfg file is there also!
It needs to go in the mods folder NOT the packages folder. Also make sure it is dated after June. I got mine from this place: DOWNLOAD
Anything older than that and you're mods wont be recognised by the game. It's due to the Ambitions update and the new way CC is handled by the game.

Got how to make the folders, simple enough, needed refreshing Now on to Miss L's info, got to sit and read this one. Do I need to do anything with the DCcache at all. That box about windows can't open is bugging me. I think I about got this one maybe. Thanks
