So, seeing as many of us here have terrible CC addictions - how much do you guys have loaded into your game right now (...and how does it run?)??? Just out of curiosity. *Trying* to cut mine down again as I type this. I have everything divided into about 20 compressed packages - and it was...1.82 gigs, got it down to 1.63 so far.

Hmm... my mods packages folder is 8.32 GB

As of right now, I have 11.1GB of cc files in Mods/Packages, and another 3.3GB in Downloads (though I guess those can be cleared out & I can just keep the files in DCBackup). I told Kelle about my cc a couple of weeks ago and she didn't believe me So here's the proof lol:







I have....I don't know, maybe 50+ compressed files, plus a crapload of hacks that are never compressed, and a few loose files that I need to compress soon. My Sims 2 game had over 52,000 cc files by the time I stopped playing :/

As of now, my game runs pretty well despite the cc overload. I have some lag, and it takes a few minutes for the game to load up, but it's very playable and really smooth on smaller lots. Large lots and areas with lots of sims will stutter a couple of minutes before smoothing out. The BAD part is that there are about a thousand cc items that I WANT to install in addition to all of these! But I need to do a major cleaning before I add much more stuff.

Holy moly! The most I've had installed is about 6 GB - not counting downloads, but I don't have too much installed as sims3packs, anyhow.

Up until a few days ago I've been playing on a laptop with one of those "onboard" graphic-deals. I just got a gaming computer....yay ram, yay real graphics card! My laptop wouldn't let me install too much of anything without burning my legs and sounding like a vaccum cleaner. YECH.

I have loads of CC and it adds up to 3.41 GB and my game runs a little Slow, but since the day I got Generations my game is fast. The load up takes about 2 minutes rest all is fast enough.

Ameenah, I feel ya -- we built this PC in 2007 (first build ever, loved the experience), and last year I upgraded pretty much everything. Before '07 I had a PC that wouldn't even play Sims 2! And my laptop, forget about it -- I have Sims 1 loaded on it and the damn thing is like "...you want me to play THAT?! But it's so haaarrrrrrd!!" >.< This coming year I want to add a little more ram (it's on sale, so I wanna jump on it lmao) and mayyyybe change cases to the newer model of my current case (I adore this case but it gets dusty on the inside FAST), and if I can afford it, snatch up a second-gen i7 processor <3. My hands are gonna permanently look like cups from all the begging I'll be doing for money lolol.

I hope you find some badass deals on parts. ;D I was looking around on Black Friday, but didn't find anything within my tiny budget. That's awesome that you built your rig. I have been wanting to, and was planning on making my first attempt soon to get me out of laptop-land. My boyfriend actually bought our computer from someone who was building and selling on craigslist a few days ago - it seemed kind of sketch initially, but he actually turned out to be super nice and professional.

From Evater on combining files together...I did all my peggy hairs and shyne hairs all of them...the newsea ones...all my hair files are all combined into their creators file...such as Peggys Hair Combo.. Anyway this saves loads of time loading my game and everything.

I'm too terrified to even look... Soooo let's just say i have bunches and bunches. I wish sims 3 was like sims 2 where you could easily delete stuff you didn't want any longer. I think cc magic is headed in that direction but I don't want to use it until it's out of beta. Hidden Springs made my game fly!! Faster load times, no lag in game play but since Generations it seems to lag a bit even though loading is not too bad. I go through periodically and clean out my saved games and my screenshots and my sims CAS bin. (one by one in CAS remove duplicates of saves of sims already completed) I always save in a separate folder the saved games I delete and then add them to my external hard drive in case I need them again.
Also on the screenshots, totally clean it out an just place in a folder on the screen for future reference and once I don't need them I place them on the external hard drive also.
Also I go through the launcher and delete any/all cc I no longer use which helps lighten the load a bit.
I always clean out my cache files before I start each game, just runs better

But...I refuse to even attempt to view how much cc I have until I am more emotionally stable enough to deal with it!!
