Okay, i was asked by Cece to talk a lil about this movie. So lets get started first and foremost I absolutely LOVE the book series!!! The movies .....ehhh

I was actually kind of excited to see what they did with this movie since the book was right to the point.

The movie started with Jacob dropping a wedding invite and running away. They never explained what was going on with him and how long he runs away for...

Then they immediately started the movie the night before the wedding... okay!
The wedding was cute but Bella did not look as beautiful as they described... okay!
They never introduced her bulletproof vehicle (human car) nor did they show her after transformation car (vampire car).... okay!

So Jacob shows up at the wedding reception and I could basically quote all the words that were said out of the book. Then it got awkward... When he finds out she is planning on getting her groove on as a human he was suppose to get tremors almost like he would phase in front of her... THIS NEVER HAPPENS!

Okay they leave for Brazil. Instead of jumping right on a boat to Isle Esme they stop off to dance with the natives ...I didn't care for this part i felt like it was a waste of run time but whatever. So everything went fine after that... They finally made love (which by the way was kinda of graphic)

The next morning she wakes up in bed alone ....This is not how the book descibed it...
In the book she woke with him laying next to her upset because he had bruised her pretty badly.

In the movie he saw her in the bathroom and was visibly upset that she was so happy... She didnt understand why so he showed her her bruises... OKAY, not much of a change!

Bella was suppose to be having dreams of a baby boy throught this whole book. A story was told to her about a woman who created a vamp baby and the baby slaughtered town after town because it could not be taught... Hence why she kept dreaming of a bab y boy that she herself kept trying to protect... This story was never told and the dreams never happened ...I figured they are leaving that piece for part 2

So everything went as planned he kept her occupied so she wouldnt try and get no more vampire sex...

NOW to the good part...

The first thing I noticed was everything kind of happened all at once. She ate some fried chicken... she threw it up. She checked her bag and realized she didnt get her period. She then immediately checked her FLAT tummy in the mirror and what do you know.... SHE FELT A KICK. Alice called and it was time to go home!

Lets rewind for a minute... In the book she was suppose to have eaten like 10 carton of eggs ...this was not shown in the movie... They skipped imortant parts to put in stupid scenery shoots!!!

So the native cleaning lady tells her she will die carrying this baby and Edward immediately wants to get this "thing" out of her so like the book she calls Rosalie (Edwards blonde sister who doesnt care for Bellas choice to become a vampire)

Lets fast forward to Jacob... Heis supposedly talking / thinking on how Bella's death will come about and how they will pull it off and explain things to her parents ...

Book version this happens in his home....
Movie version they link a few scenes together and he's on the beach... OKAY!

He goes home to find Bellas dad upset and when he speaks to him he find out bella caught an illness... He jumps on his bike and rushes off to the Cullens ...Everything about this part was changed. Fine not a big deal... the only thing that annoyed me was when he walks through the door he was suppose to see Rosalie crouching over Bellas head and Edward was suppose to look like a man burning at the stake ...I actually pictured it the wasy the writer described it ... to me the scene was emotionless.. Even Bellas demeanor was suppose to have changed ...The awkwardness she had in the first 3 books were suppose to kind of go away... She was suppose to be sickly happy while being in excruciating pain ....She just sorta look uncomfortable ....

Ok so Edward talks to him and tells him to talk her out of it ...Jacob was suppose to tell her that Rosalie didnt care whether she died or lived ...she just wanted the baby for herself ...THiS NEVER HAPPENED!!!

OKAy so Jacob runs off into the woods in wolf form sad and broken that Bella is going to die... As a wolf the rest of the clan heard everything that was said and all the fears the vampire had for this "thing" growing inside of her ....They all want to attack and kil bella that night... JAcob breaks free from having to bow down to the ALPHA and becomes his own Alpha.... Similiar yes

BLAH BLAH BLAH ...Bella is ready to have the baby ....She never threw up all that blood she was drinking!! they didnt show enough blood when she was giving birth! So basically they showed all the sex scenes but they didnt show the birth the way it was suppose to be depicted! She has the baby and dies ...THIS WAS THE BEST PART OF THE MOVIE. She looked terrible laying on that table! Jacob leaves and he doesnt feel that gravity he use to feel...

In the movie he goes outside and cries for Bella... then he goes back in to kill the baby but soon as he looks at her he imprints
In the book he walks and leaves edward trying to save his wife but then a little heartbeat pulls him towards rosalie and the baby... then he imprints

they changed this part to add dramatic effect to the movie because then the wolves come out and start to fight the vamps but then Jacob insist that if they kill the child they kill him because the child is his lifelong mate ,....

No fight ever broke out in the book... the wolves never crossed paths with the vamps ...I GET IT MAKE IT EXCITING RIGHT?!

BELLA"S APPEARANCE STARTS TO CHANGE>>> SHE GETS WHITER THEN NOMAL AND HER HAIR IS NO LONGER GRAY BUT CHOCOLATE BROWN HER BODY FILLS BACK IN AND HER RIBS FIX THEMSELVES ....IN THE END EVERYONE LOOKS UP FROM WHAT THEY R DOING AND THEY ZERO IN ON HER EYES ...SHE OPENS THEM AND THEY ARE BLOOD RED ...THE END

This movie was THE WORST movie in the series and I was furious leaving the movie theater! I went to use the bathroom and realized everyone else ran back into the theater so i went to see what was happening ...I THINK THE # HEAD VAMPS GOT WORD SHE HAD A VAMPIRE BABY ...

HOW THE HELL DO THEY KNOW ALREADY????????????????????????????????

Thanks for sharing this Kami! I've heard more bad reviews than good...very few good to be honest. Which does sadden me because although not a huge fan of the entire Twilight series, they made this movie 'seem' to look soooo much better than the first 3! If the best part of the movie was her having sex giving birth and dying....again...I can wait on the dvd version to come then.

I heard various things about the sex scene, some claim it was too tamed; even Edward/Robert P. stated in interviews that they had to tame the scene down. They were told that NO thrusting could be used in the scene and if it were it would change the rating to a R rating instead of PG-13.

So I'm a bit disappointed because I actually, at first, thought this may be the 'fixer upper' needed to change my total overall feelings regarding the series.

Anyone else care to give their review and opinions please do.

Well it sounds like the movies were just for the box office and not for the fans. I saw the first movie, never read the books. I liked the whole setting but that was about it, the story was nice, but I hate the fact that the vampires sparkle. I got over that bit... but then I was disappointed with how gentle they are lol They're MONSTERS, bloodsuckers! They don't want to have sex because that's not how they REPLICATE!!! lol

i've always got the impression that vamps were sexual beings ...there are stories of succubis (not sure if i spelt dat right) and incubis in my country and what they do is they entice you and bed you and bite you ...i've never heard of u becoming a vampire from it though

i've read a few books that and seen a few movies were vampire are very sexual, bloodsucking monsters lol

I'm looking at it from a scientific point of view. The instinct to have sex is derived from the instinct to reproduce. A Vampire would no longer feel sexual drive because they don't reproduce via sex, they reproduce via bite. I am probably over thinking things lol

I'm going to have to disagree Mary. You are saying because someone can't reproduce they no longer desire sex? False on that!! For women, sometimes our peek comes in our mid to late 40's and so does this enormous sex drive!! Whereas at this age most men start to slow down because they peek in their teens and twenties.
I agree with the vampires being a correlation for sex, you do mostly in older vamp movies and books see the vampire as a sexual being that lives for the blood, bite and the sex. Bram Stoker's vampire movie is prime example. That movie was so full of sex, sexual innuendo and nudity that at times you forgot about the whole premise for the movie!! Hmm...I may have to find that dvd and re-watch it...just to assure that I'm not misleading or anything...

Or maybe Cece would just find the movie and watch it for the heck of it. HAHAHA.
I have never seen a vampire movie, other than Twilight that I remember, but I do know that I have seen something. I don't remember. That is confusing. Never seen one with so much sex. Oh yeah, The Blade Series with Westly Snipes. Other than that, it was an old black and white movie.

Nooooooooooooooo, I'm saying it from an animal point of view lol Animals who are neutered don't have sex anymore because they don't have the instinct anymore. Humans CAN reproduce at their sexual peak, but I understand what you're saying. Infertile people still have a sex drive. But the original vampire lore suggested that vampires are animalistic - monsters - who have lost all humanity. This is why I feel that a vampire would have no sexual desire, because it's evolved / mutated into something that replicates in a different way. I'm looking at it from a strictly scientific point of view... and from the point of view of someone who read the original Dracula lol

A while back I started working on the outlines of a story in which the main characters were succubi, so they were extremely sexual. But in my story, vampires were actually the lowest order of demon, sort of looked down upon by all the other demonic & elemental classes (except for the highest-level vampiric demons. my succubi actually belonged to a higher order of demon and weren't actually related to vampires as we know them. cheap, eh? haha. all the other classes reproduce the way we do, pretty much). So I'm thinking that now I will write it so that vampires in that world will be more asexual and 'monstrous'. That works out much better because characters from my other demonic orders are INSANELY sexual lol. The vampires in my story are basically the only demons that can turn ordinary humans into demons (vampires). Within the other demons/elementals, you must be born into that class, never "made". This is giving me inspiration to bring it off the shelf and work on it again! LOL Stephanie Meyers would NOT approve -- this is NC-17 at its finest...rawr

I feel that the vampires in Twilight are not sexual in the appropriate vampire way - they're not badass at all lol They're not monsters. They're sparkly humans, just about. There's nothing powerful or vain about them, and the author made millions of teenage girls fall in love with a 'monster' -_- Ya right lol

I love your story idea and modern readers will thank you for making vampires monsters again. They aren't designed to be beautiful and sensual - as you said, Dracula wasn't designed that way. Dracula was a horror story. He was designed to be scary. And his power over Marie Antoinette (I think that was her name lol) was meant to be scary, not sexy. I am also writing a novel, and vampires in my novel are parasites and predators. Their only function is to find food.

But anyways, this has gone way off Kami's topic lol Just thought we'd all have a rant about how vampires should be XD

not at all... love the different views and stuff... vampires are still meant to be scary in stephanie meyer's story ...just not the cullens and a selected few.. they dared to be different ..thats why reading the book is important the movies doesnt go into detail on what made Dr Cullen choose this quiet quaint lifestyle lol

I don't HATE lol I HATE the fact that monsters like Edward are made out to have a soul. Vampirism is a curse - a mutation. It's not meant to be pretty XD Even the evil vampires in that world are sucky compared to Blade vampires lol ;)

DR cullen was a pastors son... his father use to hunt the very thing he has become... he had to lead a group of hunters and got bitten... when he realized what he became he ttied to starv himself... this didnt work and i believe he ate a rat and realized he could substitute the blood.

when he made his wife she also followed his beliefs in only drinkin the blood of animals ....as well as rosalie and edward...

at some point Edward did rebel and he was hunting predators (i.e rapist, murders, robbers) Then he came back and started living the Cullen way

If you saw New Moon you would see that the Voltori were drinking blood... lots of it. They had human woman they used for slaves bringing tourist (man woman and children) to get slaughtered ... Just saying

They are basically just showing the story of these particular ones that are trying to live differently

So that now makes sense when Edward tells Bella he is a killer. That had me scratching my head because as far as the movie went he didn't kill people...only animals. So it doesn't say how Rosalie and her man came to be part of the Cullen clan, did the book state how this came to be?

uhm yes...
Rosalie hates Bella because of her ability to groww old and have babies... Rose was arich socialite I believe and her husband to be was suppose to be a rich southern gentlemen... One night walking home she saw him in an alley with some other guys drinking and he called her over and started groping her inappropriately... they then raped her and beat her almost to death until Dr Cullen found her. He wasnt going to turn her because of who she was. He knew someone would come looking for her but he could let her die so he did to save her ?life? lol She went on to kill every one of those men in a wedding dress before changing her ?life? lol

Emmet was a hiker or a camper and I believe he was mauled by a bear. Rosalie found him and asked Dr Cullen to help him.. It was mentioned that he reminded her of a baby because of his chubby face and curly black hair

So true Mary!! I think she (the writer) went way off track here trying to make it kiddy and actually messed up a lot of the old Vamp way's. She went way off track too many times. And I agree, why are his hands and face not sparkly most of the time, why only when he removes his shirt? I made an oops...I know how Rosalie was discovered by Dr. Cullen, it is the little dark haired girl, Alice that is a mystery on how Dr. Cullen found her.

oh ok Alice story is tricky... It seems as though Alice has always been prone to premonition. When she was young she predicted bad things would happen to her cousins and no one believed her and it happened... Then she had another that her mother was to be die. Hre mother believed her and took precaution... Her father didnt. When nothing happened her mother then stopped being cautious and died. Her father remarried and she suspected that her father and step mother had something to do with it... So they locked her away in an institution and called her a witch.

she was then shaved bald and subjected to shock therapy until she lost her memory. When an old vampire working in the asylum took care of her and watched over her. I believe James the blonde vampire from part one caught her human scent and was determined to bite her(she saw this in a premonition). So at the last minute the old vampire bit her and it heightened her ability to see the future... James killed the old vampire and found that she had already beened turned so he left her with the intentions on one day finding her to see how she turned out. She woke up in pain and not remembering a thing.

Her first vision was suppose to be of Jasper becoming her mate and living with the Cullens... So she went out in search for him. So basically since she envisioned her being apart of the Cullens she never drank human blood and she never killed anyone either

By the way, in the book Alice is described as "The short girl was pixie like.. thin in the extreme, with small features... Her hair was deep black, cropped short and pointing in every direction. Standing at 4'10.. she is also described as being graceful enough to break any ballerinas heart

To be honest, I think Alice was like the best character in the movies. They casted her perfectly. I also think that Peter Facinelli was a perfect pick for Carlisle. They were my favorite characters.

I agree. Peter F aka Dr Cullen was perfect for this role.. I did see the Twilight/New Moon movie before reading the books but he stood out da most.. I pictured him while reading...

Alice I slightly agree.. I did picture Ashley Green when reading YET she is TOO tall... She kinda towers over Kristen Stewart (bella) but she has dat cute pixie look about her... So I dont mind so much

I also think they cast Kellan Lutz (Emmet) perfectly... Chiseled, nice height and cute baby face...


He is seriously cute... I watched a movie he was in and didnt know it was him because he was blonde.. He was da first kid that died in the recent remake of Nightmare on Elm Street

I understand what you are saying exactly. If they were forced to be demon or demon-like, monsters or however you see them, then they should not be punished. However...since Dr. Cullen changed the majority of them then maybe he is damned because he cheated their actual death and made them monsters...without choice. Like you said, Bella begged from movie a to b to be soul less so I see her as maybe being damned. I have no idea what God's intentions are on in dealing with whether we are to be forgiven of our sins or given a second chance to plead his forgiveness. But I thank Bella pretty much signed and sealed her fate and whoever changed her as well.
