They're both very pretty, but I'm also loving Andie's look!

I wonder if this is just a totally minor pet peeve of mine - but for Casey, the bun hairstyle with bangs is kind of throwing me off. I love that hair, but it doesn't match the rest of her hairstyles - with the side bangs either down or pulled back, it looks like she had her hair cut for just that one outfit? I think I'm just slightly crazy, though. Besides that, loving her style, look, coloring. Your sims are always both pretty and realistic (and all look like they will lend well to legacy style play because their genetics look like they play extremely well with other sims ).

@Ameenah: It's not just a pet peeve of yours about the bun hairstyle. I'm usually pretty picky about the hairs that I choose and making sure that they are around the same length, but I think I was just in too much of a hurry with Casey to get her pictures posted. I will gladly take any suggestions on hairs that you might have stumbled across, because I agree that the bangs don't fit very well with the other hairs chosen. I really do value your opinion because you haven't steered me in the wrong direction yet.

I like their contrasting characters so I'm gonna vote both! I like both their styles as well!

I can definitely see the care and thought you take into styling your simmies, Kat. If I think of a good updo, I'll post a link! I also think it would be awesome for you to upload the two as a pair (time permitting, of course)- they're just both so pretty. I think there's something cool about couples/families being shared- it gives them even more back story, and when I plan out my towns, I often think of how I'll group the simmies into households.

I'm kind of liking the idea of uploading them as a duo, because I really don't want to separate the two of them. They actually seemed to compliment each other really well in game.




I was on MS3B for quite a while today, but none of the updo's really stood out to me. I kind of like Newsea's Lady's Diary. What do you think?

It's just something about her!! Your pics look GREAT!! Are you using a special mod to get that wonderful hue on your colors?

seriously when there are option for "both" why would I picked only one of them, as they are equally gorgeous, and seems like a complete yin yang to each other.

Just used the in game camera on these teaser pictures and didn't even have the HQ mod installed, but I do have my sim details set to very high. I was trying to work with the outdoor lighting to get the best shots possible though and had lots of lighting for the indoor shots. I usually play with the colors in cas until I get the shade that I want though.
Both ladies are pretty evenly matched here and on tumblr and I have been gathering their custom content, although there isn't too much. I still have a couple of days on the poll, but I'm leaning towards releasing them together. ;)

Good point and just wanted to let you know that both sisters have Navetsea skin. What can I say? I'm addicted. ;) I'm just searching for a new formal hair for Casey and then I will be getting both ladies ready for upload.

The lighting in your outdoor pics is seriously fab - it's not an easy thing to get such clear, well-lit photos outside! (I think Lady's Diary would be a perfect updo, by the way. Good choice!)

Thank you, Ameenah. I will try Lady's Diary out on her and see how she looks and I think I'm going to tweak Andie's athletic wear because it is giving me a headache. Time to look for some new poses to showcase my pair. Thank you for all of your help.

I know right Ameenah...I mean it's breathtaking those outdoor shots! You just don't see that kind of quality in outdoor pics and I have my detail set to high as well but it seems to kind of wash my sims out and they don't look as good as they do indoors!

Well, got the cc collected on both sisters, but I have to go into game to double check on their make-up. I'll have to try taking some outdoor shots when I get them ready to upload. I just have to work with the position of the sun when taking outdoor pictures. It can be pretty tricky sometimes though. If a shadow falls the wrong way, they look like they have a black eye.

Sorry about the double post, but wanted to say that I do love the hair. However, I'm not sure that I like the retexture. It just seems to blended. I really am working on uploading the sisters, but having no fun with their cc.

OH I understand, sometime the texture is so soft it looks like a big blob of clay on top of your sim head, especially for darker hair color.

Thank you Katink to use my skin on them, I'm happy you can utilize them to the fullest, I mean with different skins you have to readjust the way you shape the cheekbone, areas around the eyes, and the width & depth of the mouth and mouth corner angle, when you shaped a model with one skin, then when you swapped the skin with another set, it would make them look totally different.

@Nav...That's why I LOVE having a good selection of different skins!

@Kat...if I see something I will post here to maybe help out. It's so tough trying to figure out the hair sometimes. There are times I can try a few on and then 'bingo!' the perfect hair...other times...I get so frustrated I just put the sim back in bin until I come across another possibility. ;)

@Cece: I really liked how Lady's Diary from Newsea looked, but after testing a couple of retextures, it has holes in it and I'm extremely picky about the hair that I use. The search is still on for an updo. Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. I've been on MS3B so much in the last couple of days, but haven't had any luck yet.

@Nav: I've become addicted to your skins and have been using them on most of my sims. They are so easy to use and I love the way you have the color ramp set up.

I will try to make it more perfect on my next skin, I'm aware, it still hard to produce darker tones on my current double peaks ramp.

For the hair, you're using Lotus' retexture I think? Her older textures are only available in EA-style highlights and are generally more matte, and I believe that is one of them. Have you tried the original out? If you want more shine, you might like it better. It should be on the booty! How did I miss your updates on this thread? *shakes head* I am so bad at checking back on threads sometimes. I rely so heavily on the little hearts to alert me, and when my browser mysteriously doesn't update them...I'm like, oh, no updates!

Anyway, the swap in retextures is looking really great! If you adjust the highlight color, is that going to mess with the colors you've set for her other hairstyles/outfits? (You can set hair color per outfit with Master Controller if you use it, by the way. ) I think it looks nice the way you've set it, subtle but shiny.

So excited to see these simmies shared, btw.

Don't feel bad about missing updates on this thread, because I just noticed that you replied. The sisters really are coming as soon as I can stop procrastinating and get them into game for a photo shoot. I'm going to go with White Crow's retexture and just leave it as-is, because it does have subtle highlights. I'll do my best to do the girl's photo shoot tonight so that I can get them posted this weekend.

I agree with Kat Ameenah, don't feel bad...I miss threads all the time and can't figure out a way to NOT miss them. I get new post...(supposedly) through my email but I'm more than aware that I'm not getting them all delivered.

Just 'bump' them if you feel as if your thread is getting overlooked.

Photo shoot is done...finally. It was not fun to try and get the girls into their outerwear. They kept changing back into their everyday clothes. They will be posted later today. Once I get them uploaded, I can concentrate on my 100 follower gift on tumblr.

Kat, when you're doing photoshoots indoors, have you tried temporarily disabling their autonomy (turning off High Free Will)? You can do this through Master Controller, or toggle the global setting in the game's option panel, after you're done taking pics, you can switch them back to your preferred setting. This stops them from doing anything unless you queue up an action for them. They'll still perform the idles specific to their traits, so they won't stand still as robots, but they'll do it in the same spot (won't walk away and try to leave or change outfits).

I didn't think to turn off High Free Will...lol. I did click on the mailbox to make needs static and they just stood there, so I thought that would work. Next time, I will turn off free will. ;)

Jamil started out as another sim named Yadira's genie. Yadira is also a genie. She was in the house with the quads, but I moved her out because she was hitting on the husband in that household. Once I got her into her own house, I got her a lamp and she got her own genie...Jamil. After two wishes, I finally had her free him and she ended up marrying him and having 3 babies.

Andie is an uncontrollable flirt and she is hot-headed, so she will be a little bit harder to control than my ladies usually are, but she seems to be pretty decent to Casey.

Usually when I create a sim, I pick one of the pre-made uglies and give her the EA bun hairstyle. I shape the facial structure first, starting with the global sliders, then I move on to the cheek, jaw, and finally chin.
After that, I just move down the side and start with the eyes, then the nose, mouth, make-up, and tattoos and freckles (if I choose to give them any).
I usually have a picture in my head of what I want my sim to look like before I even start. If I want them curvy or more thin. After I shape the features, I will start looking for a hair, then go back to the sliders and tweak some more. I am still tweaking the sim after I put them in game to test them out. I'll see something that didn't turn out the way I wanted it to and then jump back into cas to fix it. I always like to have my sims look the same in-game as they do in cas.

Every one of my sims have had their outfits changed at least half a dozen times before anyone on here even sees them for the first time. And sometimes, especially in Andie's case, I will change an outfit after I post pictures, because I don't like how the clothes work. I love experimenting with colors and patterns in cas, but try to give my sims their favorite colors somewhere in their outfits.

Sorry for the mini-book that I've written. Needless to say, the sisters will not be posted today and I apologize for the delay, but I wasn't very happy with most of their pictures. I will be tossing them back in game to do another photo shoot.

I think the sim that you are thinking of (the one that you put in as Bree's sister) is Deena. I know you don't post too many pictures, but I enjoy seeing the ones that you do post.

ah good to hear from ya. yep it deena hehehe. i was going thru the sims here. i like your bree of course and there another i kind of mix up with bree sometime is audrina i love her too. i love your sims. and take your time with them all. it must be fun not a chore. mm

I had side pains from laughing so hard when I took that pic. One of these days, I'll have to do pics from start to finish. I have a new sim lady in the works...maybe. Still testing her out in game. I'm also planning on uploading a made over version of my male sim, Alex. I did a makeover of Jayden James from Monte Vista, so I might release him instead. Oh, too many sims to choose from.

nice to know your approach to make simmies
mine is the total opposite to yours, so it is nice to know and learn how other people do their work.

I usually pick random sim, and put on a hair that I want to use as main hair for the character, then I shape their face for that specific hair type, adjust their head size, then most of the time I make their eyes small, and make their jaw more square before anything else, I think I only use 1/3 jaw bar to any sims I made, I never touch the more feminine soft jaw, since I like well defined jaw and chin. next thing is to minimize their eyelash so it won't create ugly shadow in game. then I pick skin, and then I set their weight and body shape, after all that I do their face more. I don't have clear idea how I want them to look, I let myself be surprised by the outcome of how I pull or push its face elements and decide spontaneously after I'm happy with one element of its face, eyes first because I love eyes the most, and then lips, and then balancing the distance to nose and chin, raise the face up or down, and then adjust their cheek type and chubbiness.
