Sims computer is out of order and my parents, my sister, and some friends of hers think a virus is the problem with something I downloaded. Problem here?

The only thing I downloaded are Sims-related stuff. That includes some Mods from Nrass and MTS sites. Those two sites are safe sites but every year my computer gets corrupted and has to be taken in to be fixed and the files get wiped and I have to start over again. The only time Mods had nothing to do with my sim problem was when it crashed after I got WA for Christmas of whenever WA came out. We want to know why if the only thing I download (from safe sites) is my computer still be corrupted?

I NEED mods or else I can't play my game. I don't want my Sims families moving on me, etc especially not if I want to play a legacy. I want my Sims to be apple to have child support income, not have to be so big on "love" for marriage,etc. This is why my parents didn't allow me mods in the first place because they were afraid of this.

I download from both of those sites and have not had any problems with virus's or corrupted files being downloaded onto my computer. I suggest maybe looking into other areas such as even ares that you might just be viewing can cause virus's if the site is not safe. Also, if you don't have a good virus protection you are extremely vulnerable. If you click links to visit other sites, that may cause some problems as well.

Also, make sure that the computer place is not taking advantage of you. The problem could be very easily taken care of and they might be blowing up to get more money out of you. Just some suggestion.

It been taken to two different stores and a non-store person who puts computers together in their spare time, within the last several years. First store Best Buy (where we got the computer from), Second was Canadian Computers and the non-store person was my dad's coworker/friend's spouse back in Febuarary.

I still highly doubt it's either of those sites. I've heard of no other complaints and like I mentioned, I visit both sites and have downloaded mods and creations and have had no problems. I seriously think you computer was infected from another source.

It's really annoying that I'm getting conflicted messages. One from sister her Computer Support workers friends claims that a pirate copy of Windows 7 wouldn't crash my computer and yet the people on the officials claims that is what is causing my current computer issue.

That could very well be causing your computer to crash. A pirated copy of anything could have a number of unseen problems. It's just like downloading pirated copies of Sim expansions and then having problems updating. Something could be wrong with the files in your Operating System.

Oh...now that explains more ML! If you are using a pirated copy of windows, I agree with KK...it PROBABLY is what is causing these significant problems with your computer. Seeing how windows is an important part of your computer system this being a fake copy could seriously cause problems.
