(SOLVED) mod that saves the game every so offen?

i swear there is a mod that automatically save the game every so often but i dont remember whats its called or where i can find it. now that i have showtime on my computer....my game closes to the desktop and then closes the game all together. and i got so far with my sim being a singer tooo. i hate when ya play the game for an hour for nothing because ea is dumb and dont know how to fix there shit lol.

if anyone can help,i would vary much appreciate it

There's a mod called "Saver" from Twallan. The game is saved in real time and even in Buy/Buildmod. You can set the timeinterval between saves however you like. The mod is found here:

I use grims as well, and mine wouldn't crash, though I did have really slow issues so i changed the saving from 5 to 1 and i haven't had a problem ever since(:

i always know TS games are buggy, but never to the point of closing to desktop that often, maybe it is caused by mod that not suitable to your last installed EP?

stevies should try to play the game without a mod package folder to see if his game any better then?

Yes, I would run the game at least once without any mods/CC to see if you're still getting crashes.

You're playing in Starlight Shores, right? There are a lot of routing issues in that world - so your game could be crashing from stuck sims. If the game is still running poorly when you take all your packages out, I would definitely install Overwatch and Error Trap from Nraas/Twallan. Stuck sims can cause a lot of lag, and those two mods should hopefully help to avoid that.

Also, how old is your save? Does this happen only with that save? Does it happen if you start a new town?

What does error trap exactly do? And also, I use overwatch and at the end of game play my ea folder will have all the files showing the error that it caught...can I just delete these from my folder without harming my game.

This mod's purview is save-game cleanup and error reporting. Look there: http://nraas.wikispaces.com/ErrorTrap.
You can delete the script error messages without harming your game. I delete them once a day. The charging process of the game can last a little bit longer if error trap is installed.

^Yep, you can safely delete all of those files. They're reports - so, they're just for your information. Error Trap and Overwatch are similar in that they both keep the game "clean".

I haven't experienced slow down from Error Trap (actually, the opposite), but there are some tuning options additionally available from Twallan for the mod if you DO experience a slow down after installing.

Error Trap is actually a core mod - but it's compatible with all other core mods, because no one else has created a mod that overrides the same game file. This means you can use it with XCas, S-Club's Slider Hack, or Awesome Mod, etc. (I can personally testify to this as I use Awesome Mod and Error Trap together.)

Overwatch cleans up stray sims, vehicles, etc, while Error Trap catches glitches and bugs that just occur from gameplay. It's designed to either fix or "trap and report" these glitches to prevent a save from becoming corrupted.

I personally think that both Overwatch and Error Trap are necessary if you plan on playing the game and/or keeping a save for a significant amount of time. Sometimes sims are duplicated (extra copies are strangely generated by the game), objects are moved off of the world map but still exist in the save file, sims genetic information gets borked/lost/corrupted, buffs are broken, etc. Overwatch does not catch these things, but Error Trap does. Overwatch is for cleaning up extra "stuff" and Error Trap cleans up borked scripts generated by the game. So the two mods kind of go hand-in-hand. Twallan of course has a list of each and every error the game can report, what it means, and if/how to prevent it. That's about the best I'm able/capable of explaining it.

Thanks bunches!! I guess I will now have error trap installed in my game! I'm sure I need it and who knows...it might even help make Season's run!! Worth a try right! hiho
