Let's get Burlesque!







So…are you ready?
Here is assignment 1 for the Miss Cstyles Simmette!

Do you know what ‘Burlesque’ is? Well if you didn’t you will by the time this contest is over. I’m posting some information for those that are not sure as well as pictures…not every assignment will have an ‘example’ picture created by me. I want each of you to be creative in your own thoughts and ideas.

I want you to create a ‘Burlesque’ Sim and background.

Rules


1: No copying others work. You can use a picture off the internet and re-create it if you wish. But try to keep as much of YOUR own creativity in the assignment.

2: Please don’t delay getting your assignment in on time.

3: If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask me, I want you to have a clear picture of what I’m looking for.

4: Moderate nudity is allowed, just NO nips or pubes please.

5: You will have 3 day’s to complete and turn in your pictures, meaning, your pictures need to be posted by Monday, Oct. 11th, by 9pm EST.
When all the pictures are posted, the voting poll will be posted and you have until Wednesday Oct. 13th, 9pm EST to get all you’re voting in. The scores will be posted Thursday along with the next assignment.

6: Some are not happy about the ‘voting/polling’ way of picking a winner, however some are…with this for every vote you get on your picture you will get a ½ point added to your total score. So you will still need your friends to help you by voting.
You can vote for anyone, including yourself that you want to and you will have the choice of voting for multiple people.

7: I will be judging as well as Ninjahawkz and I want one more judge. I still have to check with this person to confirm they will assist on the judging. If not…then we will go with just 2 judges.


8: With this being an open contest to Members as well as Mod’s NO PREFENTIALtreatment will be given to anyone. When you are judged you are judged solely on your pictures and your votes. So please…don’t get your panties in a bunch if you don’t get the score you wanted…I am just being fair. :)

Creative investment in assignment 1/10 with 10 being highest.

Photo clarity. 1/10

Background of assignment 1/10

The rest of the scoring comes from the number of votes.

Person with the lowest score will be eliminated .

*You can ask questions about your scoring if you have them. I have no problem answering anything you might want to comment on*

ok im totaly confused i thought we were supposed to use our charcter we used for entry and i have no ideal what ur talking about and how do we recreate apic with our own designs so confused

Is this your first contest?

No problem if it is...just curious.

Yes...use the model you submitted for your entry picture.

The purpose of this is to make your sim up in a 'burlesque' style. That's why I posted example pictures and links if you need help learning more about what burlesque is.
So you may have to either hunt around for cc to match the style or mix and match what you have to put together a style.

Then, make a background, (or set) to use for your back drop. It also has to have the burlesque theme. You can have additional models in your picture just make sure that your model stays the focal point.

Take the picture(s) and then submit the one you feel is the best to this thread.

Sorry about the name oopsie! I'm trying to seriously multi-task and obviously not doing a great job.

On the pic...with it being 'theme' related it might do your picture better to show the full body. Since you have to have your background set included in your score that is another reason a full body shot would be needed. It's all based on what you want your score to be.

If you don't include showing a baclground set...it could lower your overall score. (ohh...just had a eerie moment of dajavu'....I hate that eerie feeling)

Anyway...back on track...if your pic is ready you are on the ball!!!

Btw, in short, burlesque is the classy side of stripping....stripping is the trashy cousin of burlesque. lol It's all about being sensual and sexy without being slutty...hope that helps anyone! :D

So excited!! If I had the balls, I'd be a burlesque dancer in real life...Dita's my idol!!

You know, burlesque dancers (or at least dita) very rarely get naked...they always have at least pasties and a thong on...they appear naked to the crowd, but in fact are not. Don't think of them as strippers, but more...sensual dancers. It's a lot more glamorous and classy than plain old strip club stripping...

Please re-think dropping out...I don't think the whole competition will be oriented toward this subject.

It's like Akasha explained...it's def not 'stripper' theme, burlesque goes back to the old 'Can Can' style of dress and it's a classy thing not a nasty thing. I wouldn't be able to have that type of contest if it were nasty or themed in a nasty tone. That's one reason for adding the 'Elite' section, and even that will be linked to an outside site. It will be geared more towards the 18 and above crowd and locked up tight unless an Elite member.
That's why I specified in the rules to read carefully and no bits and pieces would be allowed.
If you feel uncomfortable I do understand, and I understand if you feel the need to drop out.
But I do also think you totally have misunderstood this whole concept.

Ex: My next shoot is Halloween related if that gives you a clue as to what kind of contest it's going to be. I decided everything but Vampires just to make it more creative and Vampires are too easy to create.

But again, I'm sorry if you got the impression that I was asking your model to do 'stripper' type of modeling...that is not the case at all. I wouldn't have advertised it on the EA forums if it were.

Ok Rawla...I will take your picture down and take your name off the list. I'm sorry you saw this as adult themed, trashy, stripper or other...I posted the tasteful side of burlesque pictures...just notice the very first one. That pic could be posted on the EA forum.

Anyone else feel this is too much for them just let me know. Rawla's dropping out will have no effect on the other contestants that remain in the game.

Just one thing...look at Akasha's avi...she is wearing a corset...that is not trashy or stripper it's an art. Oh...and that is Akasha in her avi. You would actually see some burlesque models wearing something similar and Akasha has shown us more pictures of her, full body shots and none of them are naked or tasteless.

Again...I'm sorry this bothered you and maybe offended you in any way.

I have a bit of a problem with the time frame for this assignment.
I read this at my first opportunity I can (living in Europe & being 9 hrs 'ahead' of you) with already halve a day gone.... In the shorty time for the assignment we have, this 'lost time' is MASSIVE...
If I have questions, this will normally take a day for response, if I have to hold up my assignment entry to wait for an answer this will almost become impossible....
I will def give it a go though, but I really wish we would have some more time before the deadline !!
I still hope to submit my assignment in time...

Please make note of this, for the next assignment (if I'm still in at that time)

Thanks guy's and Toblie I totally love your picture...oh and the other thread that was mentioned before is a mod to allow you to build your own custom animations, the only one available now is the chaos mod hope this helps :flower:

If you're looking at TSR...run away as fast as you can! They are evil!!

im looking for a tool to let me design clothing and dont want purchase aprogram to do it

You can check out the tutorials on how to make custom clothing, and most people use Photoshop but I use GIMP which is free and does nearly the same. Hi Eva!

Don't worry, not every shoot will be a 3 day shoot time frame. I planned this for 3 because I felt, and I may be wrong, that it was one of the easier shoots thus the reason for the limited time frame.

Let me know so I can work around your time frame, as any one else. I do understand totally the time difference and I don't want this to inconvenience anyone at all.

Oh, and on Rawla...I didn't understand what exactly she thought she was asked to do and even trying to explain it to her didn't help. She not only dropped out of the comp but deleted her account with Cstyles.

I checked out her profile on TS3 and it didn't seem as though she was a child. Don't know...I'm not sure how she read the contest but like you, I hope she finds one she will be more comfortable with. :D

Well when I read the assignment I did feel uncomfortable with the time frame. I do have a lot of family stuff going on this weekend, so actually I do have little time to spend on the assignment. So I was stressed out a bit...

However I did manage to put something together late last night, but I'm not happy with it. I'll keep it as backup, just in case I can't finish my "real submission" in time.
So either way, I will be able to submit in time ;)

Btw I still think 3 days is a bit short for any assignment. I agree this assignment is not that complicated, but you can't look into the agenda of the people taking part in the competition.
Besides that I like to spend time to get as much info as I can on the subject of the assignment and let the "creative juices" running and it also takes me a lot of time to "prepare" my sim and set (being meticulous and all )

Thanks EvaTer and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the competition and enteries, this is so much fun!
